Anthonys 'EXECVL'

Picked my first VL up nearly 2 years ago through a private sale for a little over 2k. With only 132,000 km or so on the clock this thing was completely original from its trim through to the paintwork and 14" steel rims with hubcaps.

Original Photo:

Mods to follow included

Tacho dash cluster from berlina With 135,000km on the clock.

Sunglass holder and centre consol from Berlina.

Re-Spray centre garnish black and detail taillights with black.

Kenwood stereo system including cd/mp3 player, kenwood 220watt 6*9inch rear deck speakers, kenwood 4inch dash speakers, Phillips 10" sub and an old audioline 4*50watt rms amp. Just a make do system till funds built up.

New Pedders suspension kit. Including 2inch lower springs, shocks to suit, heavier swaybars for front and back and new suspension rubbers all round.

16inch VS Senator rims (Copies) with 215/55r16 Pirelli P6000 tyres all round.

Custom Cold Air Intake.

Result:

Soon after i detailed my engine bay.

Result:

Was happy with the car at this point as a daily driver and was in the process of looking for another project VL when the unthinkable happened... Lets just say, a sharp corner, a little gravel, a street sign, few reflector poles and a ditch later, I no longer had a clean VL.

The reflectors had scratched the paintwork on both the drivers and passengers sides, down to metal in some places, and the sign had destroyed the front bumper, nosecone and drivers side headlight. Also the concrete that had previously held the sign in place had come out of the ground and damaged the underside of the car. Not good at all.

Got the car back home and got stuck into organising my insurance and what not. Lucky the car had been insured at an agreed value of $5,500 and although the quote for repairs had surpassed $4,500 my claim for repairs was approved. But not only was i going to get the damage repaired. The whole car was going in for a fresh new re-spray in marenallo red, new bumpers and door trims all round and an LE lip on the front bar. Month or so later and my VL was looking sharper then ever. Now i had something special, and it was time for a few upgrades!

First thing was tinting the windows in darkest legal.

Customising the door trims to follow my new 2toned interior.

2 1/4 zorst and pacemaker extractor.

Momo steering wheel.

New moulded carpet.

VQ Statesman interior which i modified to suit.

Result:

Next came my upgraded stereo.

New and improved Kenwood headunit.

Kenwood 6inch 200watt 'dual mags' have been fitted to the front doors in the VS door pods.

Kenwood 6*9inch 400watt 4way speakers have been fitted to a custom parcelshelf.

And all the necessary amps, capacitor and secondary battery.

And a 2 toned carpet/vinyl boot install, which houses a pre-fab kenwood speaker deck, and my kenwood 12" Sub, capacitor and amps.

Stereo:

Future mods will include a twin throttle body manifold. Aims of 120rwkw+

Need some feedback on the boot. Leave it or scrap it and make something simple and neat???? Might gain some more space too.

Update on Engien Bay!

Just another tidy, little paint and a fresh new rocker cover.

Just building it to be a nice drive. More powere for a start but more tourqe is the biggest plus. So far ive got a noticable gain to power and tourqe and still get 600km+ to a tank. Specs will be releases once i get a suitable ecu and a dyno figure.
