**BOV if it's a manual

**No BOV if it's auto

**BOV if its auto and you wanna get chicks - It works. No matter how much we try and deny it. They get chicks. Not the chicks you wanna hold onto but chicks none the less

The question is... why are you putting a BOV on a stock VLT anyway? Why don't you just drive around with your head out the window yelling "I'm a poser!", that will have the same effect.

some people may like a bov noise, who really gives a fuck what he wants it for, leave the guy alone.... how is having a bov for the 'wank factor' different to having a hektik dose pipe? if all you hipocrits dont care about posing, rip off your dose pipes, put on an airbox and a plumback bov and save your turbos.
why flame the guy when you all are doing the same thing with a dose pipe, same ****, different noise.

I'm a fan of a dose pipe, they sound cool, dont get me wrong, but i dont go around ripping people off for a bov.

wake up people, this forum is getting worse and worse for this ****.
what happened to the good old days of 2000-2001 on these forums when people were all just happy to be a part of the vlt family.

Exactly, this forum has turned into a heap of shit, all anyone ever does anymore is have ago at someone else for trying to learn or having a diferent idea to you other guys. for fucks sake, no one gives a fuck what you think, get over yourselves your all just little computer nerds anyway. i like the sound of blow off's and also of dose pipes. they turn heads, who cares if a few people on an internet site think your not cool.

its not everyone on the site, there are a few cool guys but there are also those cockheads ruining it for everyone else, no doubt i respect alot of people on here and have gained ALOT of knowledge from it, its just such a shame to see it turn into a bunch of schoolyard girl fights.

So please explain where the plumb-back BOV fits into the equation?
Not every BOV is a vent-to-atmo style. Twin GTR BOV's are plumb-back and arguable the best BOV setup on the market.
For $150 aswell, works a treat when there are 6 500rwkw+ cars here in Melb i know of using the stock GTR BOV's.

stuff all noise, no comp surge.

Seems you get it all then dont you?
So how would anyone be a tool then?

vl87ngn - have a look for it all here
www.hotstuffworks.com

Have a long read, there is loads of information.
Then if you ask me, get a set of GTR BOV's and plumb it back in.
Shouldnt cost you more than $200 to have done

cheers

i can agree with the last couple of posts. i dont see why people hate bov's. they werent invented as a w**k factor tool but more along the lines of saving your turbo. hence the reason why i have a gfb one on my car which is adjustable between atmosphere and plumb back. in shops they retail for $550 but you can get them on ebay for $350ish

i thought bovs are a gimick.

say ur boosting then put ur foot on the clutch, the bov releases all the air out of the cooler pipe... then u goto second gear andhave to fill the pipe with air again....

with no bov the air is left in ur cooler piping and as u change gears the boost comes on quicker as it doesnt have to fill the pipe with air again.. correct me if im wrong.

thats wrong dave, a bov reduces lag, boost wont come on hard again until the pipes are empty of **** hot air, and without a bov it takes alot longer for it to realease going back through the turbo... think about the difference... pssht or so to to tot otototoo

Lets not get carried away here, a stock VLT does not need a blow off valve. Ever. By all means they can be put on to make wanky noises but it's not going to increase the life of the turbo. If it needed a BOV I'm sure the engineers at Nissan would have made sure it came with one.
