haha yeah im going to clean the engine bay when welding ect has to be done in there for engine mounts ect and when the motor had to come in an out a few times....
the motor has to come out again, then it will be cleaned up

you can laugh jay
i know i will be once its running....

the limit of a 2J power wise is 840rwhp on matts dyno, thats when the rods break and thats spinning to 8500
the motor was perfect up2 820 then they went more n rods let go
what do u expect wit a STANDARD forged bottomend

no motor is indestructible, no matter how much money u throw at it
but u didnt answer the question

i can gurantee that your rods n pistons alone would have cost more than me buying a 2J and fitting it to a vl

i build my motors to last. works out cheaper that way in the end . My old rb30short motor is still going strong in a 10 sec vl in Melb totally untouched from what I built it 5 years ago.

I started builing my car 2 years ago when you first crapped on about doing a rb26/30 or a 25/30. Since then ive worked on a $250 per week budget to build the car taking no shortcuts. All you need is patience . Better to have it done properly then rushing to get it done to prove a point.

Just because one motor make a certain power standard doesnt mean its the same for all of them. Maybye that motor was on its way out before they put more boost in it. Did they pull the motor down at 820rwhp and check it all. How did they know it was perfect?
.

so that means that even tho Goran made huge power, doesnt mean you will??

i know of a hell of alot of std 2J motors that hav reliably punched out well ova 600rwhp and alot of them where completely stock, mine wont be
my cams and head work will/has cost me more than the motor itself

i know every motor is different, that is y im not aiming for 800rwhp as i want it reliable
i just want good power thats enuf to have fun on the street/strip

You're a f ukstick. You have absolutely no idea what 600rwhp is. Dyno and HP figures these days are such bull**** inflated pieces of crap that has fallen out of some 'guru's'' ass. What the hell do you want 400rwhp for in a car that looks like it won't even put down 150 no matter what tyres are on it?

So i guess Dyson will only need to tune ur motor to no more than 400rwhp, cause thats more than enough power for the street and with that kinda power u should be able to run quick enough on slicks to be kicked out till u get a cage... and probably more than your actual car itself will be able to handle down the strip.

I honestly dont understand why you would be lookin to make anywhere near 800rwhp, or even 600 for that matter. Its almost as tho ur using all these 1 off other cars to justify not being able to afford building a proper bullet proof motor that u know will make 800+rwhp more than once?
Wat mods have u done in regards to gearbox/clutch if manual.. or do u have an auto.

Man there are a few RB30's that have made big power in completely standard form and run as low as (from wat i know for fact) 10.01, possibly nines in other cars but i cant name any. Sounds awesome. but chances are they only did it once.. or a few times. for the simple reason that, the motors are supplied from the factory for the purpose of reasonable day to day driving in standard cars.. they may be over engineered slightly.. but push standard bottom end hard enough for long enough and bang.. game over

Congrats on the build anyhow.. reminds me of turboflash's old conversion in that white calais... Best of luck running some good times and making good power.. but if ur on here in 2 months time saying it blew up.. Proof is in the pudding...

thats more so why its better to talk it up, AFTER u've achieved something with the car. For all u know. it might blow on the dyno gettin it tuned... **** does happen man..
U've probably blown more motors up in the last 2 years than u have made 400rwhp at the wheels on a dyno. Right ?

im not out trying to make 600rwhp or 800rwhp
like ive said earlier in this post, id b stoked wit mid 400rwhp and a 10

the gearbox i hav is a 1000hp rated c4 wit all the goodies

yes the motors are over engineered but what i havent told people, which was just decided the other night, is that when the head work ect gets done, the whole motor is being pulled down, rebalanced and new rings, bearings ect so in a way it is a new fresh motor

also those cars werent 1 off cars

lik i said, im not out to make ridiculous power, just want something different and reliable for once that will still make enuf power to run a 10
ive always said i wanted a 2j n now ive done it

Fair few arrogant people on this site nowdays.

Nice different conversion man.

I think ive got the same moto as you.
Dont fix it unless you have to. Why rebuild a motor with flash murry **** unless you have to because the motor blows up? It could have lasted a lot longer than you intended.

Oh that is gold! You wanna start talking about who knows who? I'm sure Mr Gomez is a lovely gentleman but I don't really care who he is. You have made one vital mistake- you don't know anything about me. For all you know i could be an expert on everything- you're just lucky I'm not. But unfortunately for you, I DO know who I am talking to. An idiot. And I know the sort of people you worship and think are gods- they are people wit fooly sick 9sec street cars and drag racers with 3000hp turbos and 4500hp intercoolers and build hektik motors for someone with a tubbed car. Well let me tell you right now that I not only know people that are in a different world of knowledge to this but I converse with people daily who leave more motoring knowledge/skill/ability/experience/respect behind in the toilet taking a sh1t than all your mentors put together. So don't try and tell me whats sick and what isn't you ignorant sh1t.
I was never on here to be arrogant but you're a total idiot making this thread and talking the way you do. I tell you what, I'm about to go take a crap now, give me your address and I will post it to you so you can learn something about motor racing.
