my 300kw vl nitron

Hi all
very big file may take some time to load
This is my 86 vl nitron which were made by hdt for selected holden car yards in victoria.

similiar to how it looked when first purchased^^






battery tray was removed and panel work smoothed, shocker towers were fully welded right was round.
Firewall lip was cut off and edge welded and ground smooth, grooves in firewall were heat shrunk.
bonnet rod indent was cut out and filled. chassie drain holes filled.
+ lots more.









Engine has howard rods and cp forged pistons, big custom cam, 870cc injectors, GT35/40.
On engine dyno made 710hp on 24psi on pulp with octain booster. 620ft-lb torque.
At wheels has made 450kw
Has a R33 skyline manual gearbox with a OS Giken triple plate clutch , romac full spool diff 3.45:1 with 31 spline billet axels.

they had side skirts, brock grill, rear spoiler, hdt momo wheel and different looking mags all i added was the front & rear bumper spoilers.
I have no idear where the word nitron came from??

yeah it started out very ruff, i did it up bout year ago, replaced and reconditioned every thing i could. i added some pics.
this is HDTNITRON car mine use to look identical to this but i added a le rear bumper skirt.

thats a very impressive car you got there mate... btw thanks for sharing some of your knowledge to me a few weeks back...

i still cant believe you're pulling those number with a stock bottom end... still amazes me!!

at least i know what my power figures will be!!! hopefully soon you'll get to be in the 500+ Club....

decptv yeah no worries any time matey. should go good.

Skip the car originally came from the factory with the polorizer, but the owner before me removed it and sold it before he traded it in.
it has the hole in the body for it, i just have to track another one down for originality and value.

love the car dude awesome looking and awesome setup and power! similar setup to mine, only thing that car is missing is instead of those sideskirts id put LE hdt skirts on it, but it still looks nice i love it! well done

blew the gearbox on sat night, stripped all the teeth off 3rd gear. all good now as i picked up another mx7 turbo box for $450

yeah was a good price mates rates.
the motor is still the same as a new one but old.
I still carn't belive the motor is holding up and i've been belting the arse off it too.

335kw is 450hp. which would go close to 600hp at motor

how is ur gbox and clutch holding up?

can u notice a big diff with the msd - i got 1 but dunno if it will make a difference!

yeah 20-21psi boost.
Clutch started to slip when i had a full car load in 3rd gear racing.
So on my own it's fine.

Don't know if the msd made a difference as i did turbo, planum, injectors and msd at the same time. i would imagine it would have boosted up the spark a fair bit as it really cains, when i was checking for spark once. can still feel it now
