I paid $700 with a tialshaft that I never used hahah...

SUCKERS.........

Some poor guy had just rolled his skyline. I said 'mate i'm diggin deep but i'll give ya $700 for the box.' He said ok and I did a backflip.

Also I got a short shifter for it the other day. From autbarn of all places. Cost me $270 but it has about 50% less throw and I have NEVER ever felt a better box/shifter combo. Coudln't recommend one highly enough.

How do you find quick changes into 3rd with the short shifter? Personally I find the gears to be too close together.

I love it. The box is tight enough to center itself very well. So when changing from second to 3rd you just push forward and it find's third perfect.

Does any 1 no the difference between the na and the turbo box's. I would assume it would be the same deal as the vl manuals, difference in size, but the bloke i spoke 2 said the ratios are different which is the only difference.

in GTST the only difference between R33 and R34 is the sandwich plate.

the syline na boxes are basically mf5 boxes if your gonna go to the effort of replacing your box i strongly recommend a r33 gtst box they are FANTASTIC they make you feel really safe slamming through gears i.e my mf5 felt like it was gonna explode

i just did the conversion on my car. I used the MX7 clutch and flywheel and it fitted, i didnt have to grind anything although i had to modify the sandwhich plate for the MX7 starter.

I bought a half cut last week from Toy Shop Automotive Imports, which was originally a manual half cut, but I asked to leave the manual box out, and they did, so if anyone is looking for an R33 GTST manual box, go there and they should still have it.

DON'T rush into buying one from an importer till you have checked the skyline australia forums. I picked mine up for $800. YEAH ! You heard. $800.

Just sign up and create a wanted thread.

Would you go to a car yard to buy a VL. NO ! You would spend the time searching this site for one half the price. Same applies to a gearbox.
