is it only with the gt35/40_1.06 rear you have to grind the block with the stock manifold or is it with the 0.82 as well? i was thinking of getting the low mount so i could keep it a little more hiddin from you know who but they stick out as much as the top mount anyway....
is it possible for you too make one so it is a little less discreat? i know its something that shouldnt be hidden but my car not liked in my area as it is!
could i got a price for all needed for the gt35/40 in the low mount with dump pipe in the silver and a price for the black. also do you have or make a heat plate too suit?
i will need asap if you we can help each other.
thanks mate

The low mount manifold I make will make any of the garret GT's clear the block and everything else around the area. The Gt turbo's all hit the block when mounted on the factory manifold, as it sits closer to the head slightly than the one I make, this may not be th ecase with 20mm spacers, some fellow forum users would be able to tell you, athough I'm pretty sure it has to be ground just slightly when using the stock manifold.

As for a price, I uaually charge $3300 for turbo manifold an gate, you didn't specify if you needed oil and water lines, but these are normally $380, and the dump pipe would be $200, which would incorparate both the dump for the wastegate and turbo. While some may think this seems a little high, the flange for the back of the turbo is $40, and it comes with the 2 bolt 3" flange, gaskets, and bolts. Ceramic coating in silver is $280 and $310, I didn't know if you meant the manifold, or the dump pipe, but went with thinking you meant the manifold.

This would give a total of $4160 in silver, and $4190 in black. If you get in before the Jamboree, I'll do it for $3960 in hi temp black, and $3930 in double coated silver. This will include every nut, bolt and gasket, oil line and water fitting to fit the kit, except for the head to manifold flange, which is $15 from parts stores. If you meant without oil and water lines, or anything else I have added, feel free to call me anytime on 0410 730 598 and I'll help you out with pricing as much as I can.

Cheer.........................Kyle.

hey,

is there much difference between a 1" steam pipe bend and a 2" powerwise? how much power can a 1" steam pipe manifold make before it would ever need to be upgraded?

cheers.

The sizes you mean are 1" and 1 1/4", not 2", the internal diameter of the 1" bends are 29mm, the internal diameter of the 1 1/4" is 36mm, the Vl head ports are 34mm.

I have seen 430rwhp on my own car with 1" diameter steam pipe, so I can say its more than 400rwhp, but I have yet to back to back test the difference in outright hp over using the smaller pipes, I don't believe it will be huge, maybe 10-15hp, but would make full boost way earlier, 400-500rpm, and that would give far more "area under the curve" which is what makes a car fast, at least a usale street car that operates in may power bands.

SO to answer your question, somewhere over 400rwhp.

Have moved into my new workshop on Blunder Rd, Oxley guys, so if anyone wants to drop down anytime and have a look at my manifolds, ask questions, or just talk sh1t, feel free.

New thread, packages and testing coming soon guys, website will be up in a week or so, and have about 400 new pics!! Also, everyone will be able to buy in person in vic soon, as VPW wil be dealing with my manifolds, they are the only ones they will be selling, and I understand they are willing to look after people on packages and a wide variety of stock and turbo stuff. I may even try and arrange some CT member prices!!!

Haven't you finished yet boy!!!!

Manifold to suit your application would be $1000, it may be tricky to keep it low mount and fit the HKS gate in there, but its do-able, here is a pic of grants low mount setup, makes 350rwhp on 18psi, full boost 3000rpm, faster than his old hiflow did on stock manifold. Its now GT30 with .82 rear.

whats the advantage of top mount i just don't wanna get pulled over by cops and them see this great big turbo in the middle of the engine bay.
will a high mount make more power than a low mount.

That looks awesome troy!! I like where the turbo sits:) Considering I didn't even have a car or jig when I made it, it was all guess work!! So the gate turned out alright where I had the pipes?? Did you just have to weld the plate straigh on or did you have to cut it on an angle??

As for top mount/low mount, both make no difference to power, should be exactly the same. The top mount though is easier to work on, the intake pipe is easier, the cooler pipes are easier, oil/water lines the same, dump pipes probably the same, I like the top mount far better, and think it looks better, but its up to personal preference. The only problem with the low mount setup is where to fit the gate, as the manifold/collector is quite close to the firewall, and the gate has to fit between there and the firewall, whereas tp mount has plenty of clearance.

I understand trying to hide it a little but my low mount doesn't look like a stocker, its not like police are stupid, well, at least most aren't. Its not illegal to have bigger turbo or top mount manifold, they will ping you for many othe rthings before that, like ecu, cooler, etc etc. Its the last thing I'd be worrying about.

So you got the one that goes from th eturbo round the back of the block to the water line?? And just need all the fittings to go from the block at the rear and up into the turbo?

Best bet to sms me or call me mate,
