I was on nathan street driving towards the bridge and about to turn right into Bergin Rd, the arrow went orange so I excelerated and went around the corner. They were sitting at the lights waiting to turn out of Bergin Rd onto nathan st heading towards the bridge.

I don't know how they knew it was turbo there are any number of answers maybe the intercooler, maybe they blow off valve right next to them, exhaust bulk stuff. As to the oil catch can it was a bit of a show i thought it would be fully illegalbut he didn't seem too concerned it was mainly that the hose was pushed on. he had a go at me about the throttle cable bracket that we made . Apart from that he didn't seem too destressed about much really he didn't say **** about the plenum or anything (for the people that don't know JdCustom). Anyways if your shaft gets here tommorow i will get it taken over tyo get balanced tuesday should be ready to assemble wednesday night see how we go.

Brett did'nt race that GTR.
Did'nt race anyone, melted the vacume hose that goes to the waste gate. there was a lil pin prick hole that made it run ****. i was stressen, did'nt know wat it was,
but the computer was saying VAC Error looked all over. found it oh yeah,
Im in Toowoomba at the moment. Drove the VL , 1500km there and back, Long trip but was good to strech the legs of the new motor. Was suprised as well. sat on 110 on 2 and a half grand, and got around 500 km to a tank, pretty happy,
nice cold air all the way down..
lets hope i dont hit a Roo on the way back hey,
BE back in the VILL shortly.

Hey Foney, Settle down buddy, I will probably be at the drags so you will get the chance to impress me if thats what you want.
Rob is keen to take down the GTR down while its still cool, So you might get the chance to race it anyway.

Matt how do you know my car had no oil pressure in the head? I cranked it with the whole valve train off the car and it pumped out bulk oil through the galleries so i dont see why it wouldnt have pressure there at least... You know when we had the oil pressure gauge on it had around 70PSI at idle and over 100PSI when we revved it. I dont understand why Nathans RB30E doesnt tick... It was out of a VL and it had the sludge in the head that they get when theyve been sitting for ages, and you cant say and that, that motor doesnt get driven harder than mine every time its switched on.

went over to b rads house yesterday to help put in a mini spool in a blue turbo vl plates vlt86 pretty nice. Got the centre apart all sused out ready to put the spool in the center bam doesn't fit. Fitted on the axles but waaay too big for the center extreme gave them a spool for a nine inch tools. Eddy came around and helped them weld the center up problem solved. What a stuff around says ford on the box they are like we thought it ment ford for borg warner. What a let down wrecked a good 4 pinon center doesn't matter same result in the end. Should be interesting to see how it goes made 170 kw's on tms and is auto my car only made 165 but gears and manual will make a bit of a difference. If anyone saw it out at the drags Tim will back this up it looked like he was doing a victor bray half track burnout dodgy one wheel.

haha wrecked a good 4 pinion center you reckon??? i reckon we fixed it haha I wrecked one once and i had to weld it... anyway If he can break that welded diff I will give him an open center. Its more like a full spool.

The only way to maintain one of those RB30s is to replace it when it seizes. Honestly Matt, Dean, how do you "maintain" an RB30?? I have changed the oil in it 10 times more than what I care to think about... It had been changed at least twice in the fortnight that it seized. It had an RB25DET oil pump and the lifters got cleaned on it, what more could I have done?

My welded diff lasted about 5 runs.
Not a credited welder mind you. Still I never thought it would break.
Unless it was a broken axle, oh well I sold it and never found out.

silly welding up a diff, spend 120bcks get a mini spool.
Oh yeah they are also not reccomended for 25 spline axles which is what most of you would have,
5 runs is about as long as it would have lasted anyway,
that blue 86vlt is nice, if it was running a bit more boost it would be pretty quick.
i beat it.

Victa Bray, but that was only because he hasn't had his engine tuned and still has a 2.5 inch exhaust. Oh and his wheels were spinning, may have to dial in a little less clutch.

so far every VL in townsville i have come up against ive won,
yeah ive got a S hit exhaust. so what.
ive been beaten by a heap of cars, GTRs , twinturbo VS ute. few other things.
FOr a 20year old car the VL goes hard and is still up there with some of the quicker cars that get around.ANd having the engine being built to handel 20psi nicely it would want to be quick.

ANd Toowoomba IS A ****ING HOLE,
But im sure ill give Victa bray a good run, NOT!!!!!!!!!!!
exhaust upgrade when back from toowoomba,

HAHAHA How many diffs have you welded FONEY, so what experience have you got with them? And who has 25 Spline axels here???
The reason spools aren't recommended with 25 spline axels is cause apparently the axels aren't strong enough... Todd twisted his ROMAC spool and broke 25 spline axels, think about that for a second... imagine he had 28 Spline axles? Also Richard has 28Spline axels and so do I... So what he saved $100, whats your problem?

Tim what sort of welder did you use when you welded your diff what axels were they and did you pull it apart or did you weld it through the inspection holes? was it clean? When it broke did it spin one wheel and try and torque steer like a front wheel drive or what?

We'll have to see if Richard can break his, hes allready tested it and as far as I know its holded up not forgetting its auto, when I did mine it wasnt cleaned properly and we only welded through the inspection holes, my diff has copted a ****load from a dunga motor, but I beleive its shock more than torque that breaks ****, I broke two diffs in a 1300 with a 12A, the first was open and the pin broke and the 2nd time it was welded and the axle broke. It had a solid centre 4 puck brass button clutch.

Foney you should re-race Richard now its got a locker I reckon it will be heaps quicker, not saying you wont beat it but it would be interesting...

A proper caddy welder, and yes it was apart, one whole spider gear was welded to the housing. Like I said I don't know if an axle broke or the weld. That was back when I had an na diff in a conversion.

Foney has beaten every VL he has "remembered" that he raced.
