The oil in the cooler pipes and the compression gauge told me that the engine is all but ****ed, as for the diff it is an LSD that is abit loose. May as well rebuild them while they out of the car instead of pulling them out again later on. I am thinking of bolting the turbo up to the n/a motor in the time being for a bit of fun

My Cars for sale now for $9,500 but im not getting the RWC.
Still has 6 months rego.

It needs steering rack fixed $300 and maybe 2 tyres -- which is debatable.

Everything else is basically new in the motor area. Had a compression check done and it came up fine and dandy too.

Yeah I'm pretty soft but 6 months will pass and something mad will come along. I've already got a pretty good amount of money saved plus more will come in from selling this gear and a little bit extra from gigs.

Jason.

Hey dudes do any of you have a boost tap, bleed valve thingy I could borrow.
The electronic soleniod one I have is playing up a bit and I can't get it to wind up boost over about 12 psi now. Was gunna see if it would with a different valve. Let me know. Wanna get it at 14psi before the drags.

It's raining anyway.
I have to track down a boost leak tommorow.
Turbo is pushing 15 psi with 0 at the engine. Imagine what boost it'd be doing to get 12psi at the engine.

I did have turbo gear for sale but it's long gone now! Got my eye on a couple of vlcturbz. Have a bit of money to play with at the moment.

Does anybody know what the go with that red calais turbo in Townsville is? I seen it quite a while up until a couple of weeks ago. Has the blokes mobile number on the back to ring for details. It has an LE kit or Group A kit on it, pretty nice. Wanted to find out a bit about that. But even if I have to wait 6 months it will be worth it.

Is anybody going to be going to that Motor Mania thing? My band is playing over the 2 days I think. Should be alright if we get payed.

Jason.

Just checked out my cooler piping and everything. Couldn't find any leaks. Hooked up that 2nd boost guage we used Matty. Put another tee piece in so I could watch the boost at the inltet manifold and the boost at the turbo compressor cover. The turbo would spike but come back to .8 Bar and hold 12 psi at the manifold. The more I wound it up the more it would spike and get to about 1 Bar but the inlet manifold never saw much more than 13. If I kept winding it up the inlet manifold saw less and less psi as I think I was trying to push the turbo out of it's efficiency range and it was just getting too hot.
I guess the new stally (3000rpm) means the engine doesn't have as much time to load up the turbo and 12 psi is as much as I'll get with this turbo. Still hooks @ 12psi though.
Matt did you say you knew a dude who had the same trouble, finding it harder to get 14psi with standard turbo after installing a stally. It wasn't VL86t was it. That might be why he is looking for a new turbo.
That TO4/T3 that Jason got of Tim would have been perfect. Oh well...

damn I don't know what the go is tim maybe the turbo just can't push anymore air that sux a bit. Yeah I think that richard had the same sort of problem but he had some leaks. He already had a t3t4 so I don't know what the go is. The only other way that I can think of to make it hold more boost would be an external wastegate. Not all that hard to do if you get a cheapo one off ebay and weld it on your self. Just a matter of making a screamer really.

Tim: I don't think that dude that posted he has blown his turbo is our mate, Richard that owns VLT86. He has just had his t03/t04 rebuilt by john patrick and it turned out that it wasn't even the problem. The idle up valve at the back of the standard inlet plenum had a massive leak and this was causing the lack of boost. I don't think your turbo will be limited to 12 psi, surely not! I've heard of these standard turbo being pushed to 20 pound before, and spiking even higher than that ?!?!?! Wouldn't having a bigger stally mean the engine does have more time to put load on the turbo??? Hence why cars that have dinner plate turbos sit on a green light for 2-3 second building up boost...

I seriously haven't even touched my car, over it for the time being... To much uni sh!t to do...

Can we organise this cruise to ingham car show, I would like to park cars up with all you lads and get on the piss and talk alot of **** and do many stupid things...

Dean

LOL that is the go deano. I did some work on Eliza's vl today fixed the blown interior light fuse and wired a stand alone fuse in for the high beams and we got a new indicator stalk from repco as super cheap don't have them anymore $85 damn. Also her fan belt was only 2 ribs wide sketchy lucky I saw it today.

I also did some work on the glitter vl. I fixed the washer nozzels and the dimister switch and pulled the door stay rod out all I have to do now is get some trims and a steering wheel and a door stay and then I just have to do the brakes and the front windscreen.

Hey larry can you pm your mobile number so that I can organise a time to come around with deano and get that windscreen and have a look at any other stuff I might need to purchase off your wreck .

Don't know Dudes.I think I'm gunna get an electronic boost controller anyway. Even if i have to run an external wastegate I'll still use it. I have heard of a couple of people weld the watsegate shut with a standard T3 and run a wastegate welded on the manifold.
