Second gear synchro is gonna jump out of the box and run away... Still only have 25 spline drum diff on it also. I don't care if i kill that but. I got another 2 sitting behind my shed.
Yeah I reckion you should go to Ingham!

You dont have a spare diff for me do you bro?

Foney - I wouldn't call 6 grand a little engine work, and im not bagging you! Simply asking what time you ran dude? Why do you think everyone is out to bag you? Matt wants to race you btw, keen???

Kayleen - If you put a more suitable username I might have been able to work out who is was. It doesn't say your from Townsville, and whats this about a "hottie"??? your obviously talking about your car right?

There is a thread on my car in the vl turbo discussion if anyone wants to check it out, here is the link: http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=32040

Cheers,

Dean

well, if those 2 don't hold up, i got a 3rd one the project VL. its a 28 spline disc brake one (even has drilled, and sloted rotors on it). don't know if its lsd or not yet. That car isn't gonna be on the road for a llllooonnnnggg time yet.

madvk308 - got a feeling i might be needing my spare diffs

foney - your car may be old (like ALL vls out there) but its damn nice.

Pastical - That diff sounds mad, if its got drilled and sloted rotors then chances are they've gone to the trouble of putting an lsd in it aswell. From seeing your vk I reckon your project vl is gonna turn out SWEET as take your time with it and make it tuff!

brought the whole vl car for very cheap off a guy i know. body of the car is near perfect as, has front bumper thingy, and rear spoiler. only rust thats in it is a single little bubble around the front window. Its a factory v8, so its got all the V8 brakes etc (all drilled and slotted). problem with the car is thats its got a seized motor. Looks like the main bearings on piston 1 died so the top of the piston hit the head.

so i'm planing on rebuilding the motor and putting a stroker kit in it. 355, or 383. one of them why is 355 so much more popular than 383?? Don't know if i'll repaint it or not because the paint is near perfect at the moment. Just that its just boring old white.

rb25 head for the vk will happen first but

I went up against a well built Orange CVl 355 stroker a few weeks back. It went nicely off the line. Gave my 6 a fare run untill spool-time-baby.

Im not racing anymore untill ive tuned and dynoed it.
ALos wired up my tacho and get an exhaust system.best i got on the weekend was a 13.86 after a 5 runs. At first i was doin s hit times like 14.5 ect. i went and got some more fule had a feed came back and ran again againts my mates 200. he got a 14.2. first time on the track as well. Bit nervous at first too.
Anyways...I missed third gear a few times. and not having any tachos wired up made it a challange.Had to listen to the engine.
all on low boost. was a good nite.
cya.
no more smartarse S hit from me. so im sorry BEn and superry. Peace.

A 13.8 is alot better than everyone who was out there was telling me you were running. Heard the other day that the best time was only a 14.8 which seems really slow for the setup, guess they weren't out there at the end of the night. What time was it when you ran the 13.8? How many mph were you running? Should post up the time slip, so we all know what we're chasing. I

t would definatly be harder without a tacho but not impossible, why were you missing gears? those 25 boxes are smooth as, however in the car with a helmet on makes it alot harder to listen to the engine i reckon. Its always a good night out there, heard there was heaps of people.

What nights is the strip open down there fellas, I think us Cairns lads will have to come down have a few runs on the quarter....,crash the night in a hotel or somethin and get on the piss...Make a night of it!

What prerequisites to you have to have to run? Just the normal stuff like extinguisher, helmet, long sleeves/pants?

Be a goer I reckon....

MadVk308 - The strip is open on a Saturday night, and it would be mad to see you fellas down here for a few runs. Definatly should make a night of it with abit of a cruise perhaps some burnouts even then find somewhere to get on the piss for sure.

Prerequisits are battery tied down, radiator overflow, helmet, covered footwear and a long sleve shirt and pants. Its $22 to race and $8 to spectate.

I would strongly recommend that you bring a set of slicks if you want to pull some decent times as the track is not all that flash.

I seen the pic of your vk in the buildup post and it looks *****in awesome dude, really nice work, keep it up. Are you thinking about doing up a vl?

I would recommend that everyone who goes to ingham actually stay at the car show !!! I think its like 30 bucks for the weekend and you can set up a tent and sleep there. Saves driving or taxi-in back to wherever your staying and that way you can get on the piss all day and only have to walk 30 metres to pass out @ 4 in the morning.

Yeah i reckon we definatly organise something at ingham.

Btw ... my friend who was gonna take his vlt to ingham and skid it did another diff so hes got the sh!ts and is pulling it out to put in a nine inch which unfortunatly isn't gonna be ready for ingham, so now we've gotta take my ute :`( Oh well, you get that eh. When he puts the nine inch, he's going powerglide, forged internals and a ta51 ... its gonna be crazy, considering hes already got a fmic, computer and plenum, but i wouldn't expect to see it for another 6 months, definatly worth the wait though.

cheers all

Dean
