Guys this really is a TIGHT ARSE way to band aid a problem. I've had a couple of people ring me asking advice as they are half way through doing it and have hit problems and I would strongly advise against using this method trying to recolor seats and doors.
It is like trying to run 9's on a std turbo, it just doesn't happen!

Well you have to try and educate in some way, there are many people in this world who need simple explanations as to why things wont work. Hence why I said there have been numerous phone calls to me with people complaining it didn't work ![]() Quote:
Mate I couldn't care less if people come and get me to do a trim for them or not. I'm only offering advice with my years of experience and I would advise against it! Why ruin a perfectly good set of seats and have them fade/flake and rub off with sweat and spend $100 in paint doing so. Yes we all try things as well but at some point money has to be spent!

but not all of us want to change colour, i got Beige and i just wanna make its nice again, cos even the lightest stains show up..
those createx colours are like the rubber writting type of thing on t shirts, has to be heat set. not good unless you want a full latex seat :| Last edited by E-Z; 03-01-07 at 16:50. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Id rather pay this guy to give me a custom interior then to spend 100 and have it all over my clothes. Shut the trap, you speak too much without reason. |

does anyone know where i'd start looking for a colour to match the dark red interior of my VH SL/E? The rear head rests are faded.

Well it isnt ever going to be colorfast as effectively all you are doing is putting paint on your interior. Ive had a few people ring me saying it didnt work and it did flake/rub off!

This is extra fustrating... We have someone in the 'know how' of interiors and then people who have done it, havent replied... I feel like I need to potentially sacrifice my pretty good condition red interior to find out what could/will happen...
Respect to YEP_boost trying to help...

its a dye not a paint so it shouldnt flake.
i've used it on t-shirts, it works pretty well..even holds up to washes. its ment for dyeing things that you cant dye with conventional (rinse off) dyes. theres a vid of a bloke doing the seats without taking them out of the car http://www.simplyspray.com/demo.html

hey guys, i did it, unfortunately i sold my car a while ago so i cant show you pics.
However it does rub off eventually, after a year or so i noticed it was starting to rub off on the drivers seat at the bottom where you sit. The other parts (door trims, glove box) etc werent rubbing off. If your that worried about it just buy 1 can and try it on something. |
