Green or silver?

Green looks the best and seems worth more $

They are nice cars but not worth heaps. I've considered one before

Those kms aren't particularly low too

Yeh $10-$15Kish

I have a british racing green one with factory roof, leather and 83,000 k's. They have come down in price heaps. Since 55k new. You can pick up a good one for 13-15 grand with less k's than stated. I love them since they came out.

I'd say around $15k, love the SV5000's with their 200kw black 5ltr.

Most powerful standard stroke factory commodore to use the bunch o banana's manifold..

Yeah Racing green and Rose grey were the only two colours they came out in, I nearly bought one instead of the VL.. 4 years ago.

Would like one, maybe some day..

yes i have loved sv5000's all my life they cam out in malachite green(something like that) and the rose grey they used the last of the 4 bolt main blocks and where all auto as they where to compete with the european market and considered a luxury car hence the auto (although possibly one manual may have been made i wouldnt rule it out)

I have always wanted a green one but got the vl right now i know someone selling his its pretty good nick think he wanted about 14k

The SV5000 did not have a 4 bolt mains block. The VP GTS and VP Clubsport 5000i were the only models other than the two Group A's to recieve the 4 bolt mains.
There was a White manual SV5000 built and was tested by Car Australia in the July 91 issue. This car may have been a pilot vehicle and later destroyed or could be the White one that went overseas to Brunei. Initially the grey and green were the only colours available. Then Blue, Red and White being standard Holden colours were offered with bugger all of any of them made in these colours.

I have scanned 8 pages from the HSV book from when it was released. Is there any one that would be kind enough to host these pages for me?
I can send via email.

there is a lot of confusion with you guys, but im gonna say my bit then bugger off. Why not hunt down a rare vn clubsport?? they are that little bit different to the sv 5000, and mine has ORIGINAL 4 bolt mains, manual and sunroof, as far as I know is the only one of its kind and its asteroid silver. It has 19 inch roh rims and A tuned length exhaust but is mostly stock, plus you get a very superior handling package compared to the sv 5000, I picked mine up for 15500 with only 147,000 kays on the clock, which is a damn bargain, and all ive done is add the stereo and a vr clubsport interior, any ideas what it would fetch?? im lookin for round the 17000 mark. Made 195.4 rwkw, which should be good for a high thirteen with the 3.45' diff gears that are currently in the car. Any feedback appreciated

the SV89, SVLE and SV5000 are the best ones in my opinion. i just bought an immaculate SV5000 fully optioned (apart from the climate control) in the malachite green 150,000k's for 14,400. they are an awesome car this one was recently dyno'd and got 156rwks, which i reckon isn't bad for a 150000k old donk, hasn't lost it's touch. i've also got a copy of the november 1989 Car Australia magazine which features the SV5000 it has on the cover "HSV's HOTTEST? FIRST TEST OF THE SV5000" i read it for the first time the other day and theres a section with scoop pics of HOLDEN's VN CONVERTIBLE, where a reader had taken photos of a convertible VN outside HSV Melbourne HQ LOL!! It is pretty ugly, would've been interesting if HSV had actually gone ahead with it...

I'm sure the sv5000 did come with 4 bolt mains as there engine numbers starts with a VP and on the the stardard 2 bolt blocks the engine number starts with VU. So i have been told if your engine starts with VP engine number its has a 4 bolt mains.
