others will fit.. but be no better..

you could custom make one a guess.. Its just a key only switch.. mount a newer one somewere..

My mums Saab has the key barrel go like into were the gearbox would be (in a RWD car) in the mid of the car, ment to be near inpos to get out and around unlike the VLs were its just a bit of plastic covering all the wires..

Howdy All, trouble with the ignition lock aye?? me 2. I have a replacement lock by 'nice products aus' ready to be used, but if only the old one would pop out!. Its annoying me to death. If you tug on it it comes out maybe 3mm's. The times i have used a screw driver have put nice square indentations in the ignition surround. Please, somebody i need an easy and safe way to pop out the old lock. PLEASE!!

Note - even after you knock the screwdriver though, it can be a **** to get the barrel out.

A little bit of farking around and itll come out.

i got my old one out in 5mins but this new barrel wont go all the way in i think its the pointy chrome bit that wont lift up and into the cog because the old one is rounded

any ideas ?

EDIT: all good just needed to put a smidge of grease over the lil hairpin spring on the side to let it slide in a bit further thanks for the writeup

This guide helped me heaps, thanks for the pics aswell. The Ellery manual is very vague when it comes to removing the barrel.

Now the task of putting it back in. Got annoyed and walked away last night when it didnt go back in right
