![]() Well, she's back in. Will chip away at all the small bits after work this week, hopefully turn the key next weekend. ---------- Post added 11-10-15 at 10:22 ---------- So, I made a purchase a while back. Plan is to strip it and see what type of condition it's in, and give it a freshen up, after that, it can sit in the corner until it's needed. ![]() ![]() |

So after having the motor running for about 5min or so, warming up nicely, it started to run a tad rough, and started coughing, and died.
Decided to tow the car to WA Performance and let Mitch have a look at it. ![]() It had plenty of spark, however, next to no signal to the injectors. Faulty CAS was the verdict from Mitch, so I went to work and picked up a new CAS, rotor button and cap, and we rebuilt the dizzy, slapped it back in, and it ran like a champ, hot or cold. Seems this little ****er may have been the reason as to why it leaned out and popped the old motor, if the CAS only controls the fuel. ![]() After setting the timing, Mitch started bedding in the rings on the dyno, had it running for an hour or so with mixed loads, revs and boost. Nothing needed to be changed in the old tune, which was reassuring, and again pointed at the CAS being the culprit. ![]() While bedding it in, it made a whopping 152rwhp at 2psi of boost. Later pushed 5psi where it made 176rwhp, and 236rwhp at 10psi. We ended up putting a 5500rpm limiter in and a 10psi boost cut, so that I can put some kms on the motor. Now to fix all the other small bits and pieces that need cleaning up, put the bonnet back on, and get some kms on the motor, so we can turn up the wick. ---------- Post added 25-10-15 at 19:42 ---------- Made another purchase today too. ![]() Will get them trimmed at a later stage I believe. Also bought some bigger front brakes. 330mm and twin pots should do just fine. ![]() |

Very nice car! nice build mate, The G4 will be a massive upgrade over the EMS stinker, looks like it will make some nice power with some boost into it.

Very nice, May have missed it, but what's the little can hanging beside the timing gear where I assume the stock coil would have sat? Power steer reservoir?

More bits have arrived.
With the thicker core of the new radiator, the old fan setup with twin AU thermos were getting a bit too close to the oil pump belt for my liking, so I ordered a 16" Spal fan, and a shroud to suit the radiator. Rocked up all nice and shiny. ![]() I also removed the old turbo setup and dummied up the manifold and turbo. ![]() ![]() Plenty of room for a decent sized dump pipe and screamer it seems. ![]() The turbo also lines up quite well with the old cooler pipe, so shouldn't need much work to get that to work. ![]() Had a weak moment the other week and got Mitch to order me a Link dash as I was sick of a tacho and speedo with a life of its own. Was contemplating doing an Autometer dash, but there would be more wiring, and a similar cost, so figured it would be easier and more accurate to go with one of these. ![]() |

Dash is pretty much done.
Drilled some holes in an alloy plate. ![]() All together. Sort of. ![]() Figured that raw alloy was crap, and rattle can black wasn't good enough, so I took the old background and hit up GT Graphics. He made me this background, and added the Turbo badge along with the Lion and the flag to make it less "empty". Came out a million bucks, super stoked with the result ![]() ![]() |

Whilst waiting on the sparky to finish off the loom, I assembled the seats and trial fitted the drivers seat to make sure it was all good with the new rails etc.
Quite chuffed with the seats, very comfortable. ![]() ![]() |
