Sourced a Genuine VL Calais Grille. The boys at AllComm in Moorabbin really went out of there way to get me one. Top blokes and the effort was much appreciated.

Got these chrome dipped at Vinny's in Dandenong. I originally sent em off to get polished then got shown how they will end up in a short amount of time, so the bloke recommended i get them chrome dipped, very happy with the result!

In the process of doing a VLT Brake Conversion, not interested in the VT Upgrade, had thought about it but got everything for a good price of Mat [ITS.WLD]. Much Thanks
Will be painting the calipers either red or black next week still undecided. Also going to give the inner guards a freshen up with some black sound deadner.

$3 Sharpie silver metallic pen from the news agent, simply just went over the top once with the pen then took em to work and 2K Cleared them so they stay like that, in-case the silver flaked off sometime down the track.

Had a sunroof organized and ready to be put in months ago as in the photo on Page 1 but as everyone knows too well there's a million things you want to do and change throughout a build like mine and the bloke sold it on me but after nearly 4-5months of looking and asking him every two days if he'd sourced another one he called me on Thursday out of the blue and said he picked one up out of a late model Pajero, Hollandia 700 3-way Sunroof, glass top, exactly as VT-VZ sunroof,

If anybody is interested in getting a Sunroof in there VL or any car, I know a bloke that sub-contracts for Prestige Sunroofs and has done heaps of my mates cars for eg. VZ Clubsport, Johnny's old VS Calais [GMBOSS] and A few Eye Candy Cars! He sources a second hand sunroof, pulls it apart, services it and makes sure its 100%, cuts the whole to exact factory specs, does the roof lining and 24hours later it's done!

Supplied and fitted $1200 for my VL! Price may vary depending on the car but 90% of the time it's no more than $1500. Everyone vouches for him and if an issue does come about sometime down the track he will have a look at it for ya free of charge, he'll tell you the problem and how much it'll cost and will look after you labour wise. Mine will be done Thursday night so will upload pics straight away

Keen to see how yours goes

Because I wasn't prepared to pay between $2500-3000 for a new one when I could pay half that

Put the Rotors and Calipers on all already, didn't bother painting em, there like a dirty black silver, there covered by the Calais wheel, will paint them black once I get FR19's or 20's next year.

Thanks for the positive feedback aus880, I am proud of my hard work, put in so much hours and effort to get it where it is. It's gotten to the point where I just wana speed up proceedings and finish it, so sick of waiting and saving money but the end is near! Everyone keeps telling me, IT'll ALL BE WORTH IT, and I've wanted a Red over silver Calais series 2 with beige trim since I was 13 so I've been into VL's for years. The amount of money i have put into it I couldn't even say how much it's up to I've stopped keeping count as it's ended up costing easily $10-12K more than what I thought. Being on 2nd, 3rd and now 4th year apprentice wages throughout the build, running a daily and keeping the VL registered this whole time isn't easy, very frustrating and patience testing, have considered selling up and giving up but couldn't bring myself to do it. Everything is falling into place perfectly this year so if all continues the car will be at SERES ENGINEERING by August to get running and tuned!

Chrome dressing strip will be put on later down the track (end of year), need to re-do my drivers door and R/H/R door as I've put the silver moulds on both doors like a spastic. Not that noticeable to most but being a painter I notice everything and I can't stop looking at it!

---------- Post added 12-04-13 at 23:53 ----------

Front and rear bars will have the bottoms painted black at the end of the year also! Just key little finishing touches like that will be left until last.
