Getting a car club vicroads recognised

Does anyone know what is required to have a car club recognised by Vicroads?

Given that most VL's are now eligible, i would think that more people , like myself, are considering club rego for something that doesn't get driven often, and can't justify the near $700 that it costs to register a car for the year, and only drive it a couple of times.

I am not particularly interested in joining the local car club, as the average member age is around 70, most hate commodores, and i frankly have nothing in common with them.

From what i understand, car clubs need a reasonably formal association and a mechanic member to scrutineer club vehicles. Is this correct?

Is there any CT members here who have been involved in a club, or more specifically, setting up a club?

I have a few friends with older cars and bikes that would also be interested.

Any information is appreciated.
