P-Plate turbo laws lifted, Vl Turbos pass!

just thought id let everyone know, the power to weight ratio for victoria is 133kw per tonne, so strap up boys!

and could someone tell me how to check via vin number or comp plate if its a genuine Calais, cause the vin calculator sometimes doesn't work, any help would be great

It's 130kw/tonne, not 133.

The notice says for cars that have 'the power/weight ratio' printed on the build plate.

This says calais turbos are banned:

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/ex...4AC2356E20.htm

And this link says that all turbo's are still banned except for VL Berlina Turbo Wagons, which require an application for exemption.

Lol do your research, VLT's are still banned. Your build plate has to be stamped by the manufacturer. You think Holden are going to waste their time on a 25 year old car?

Once again it's just a face for Vicroads to say that they're trying to do the right thing, where as really they continue to **** over most P Platers and just reward the rich who can afford brand new Golfs and Falcons from Daddy.

Just curious Petrievl, if aerodymics are for people who can't build engines, how do you explain the VL Walkinshaw?

The wing isn't the only weight, the 21 piece body kit actually weighs around 80Kgs and to set things straight it is aerodynamic unlike the HDT the VL Walkinshaw body kit was placed on the car and wind tunnel tested. Before you compare Walkinshaws to your average box read the link below.....

While I do like Walkinshaws, I will still always hold the opinion that it's like putting an aerodynamic bodykit on a minivan...

i think the walkies are pretty ordinary looking really, sure when you see one you check it out, put personally its nothing to jump up and down about, the body kits are pox looking i think.

An aerodynamic kit on a mini van still makes it a minivan. The body kit on the Walkinshaw makes a VL into a Group A (race car L.O.L). By the way they didn't just put a body kit on a VL, there was a lot of research and development put into it including the Twin Throttle Manifold. It's a car that everyone that loves Vl's wants but can't get their hands on.

It's not about jumping up and down and your opinion on the body kits looks isn't what we were discussing it was wether it was aerodynamic or not. You should have read the link I posted before making a fool of yourself.
