You hear bad things about microtech all the time

But then you see cars like temper and GH0747 running LT10s at upwards of 1000hp consistently and it kinda restores their image. Maybe its luck as to whether you get a hassle free one

Well as it sits it's made over 440 on 21 and over 1700 ft lb torque! Few lil things to tidy up and it's ready to come home.

Wen it leaves the tuners there will be a lot of tidying to do, make a box for the intake side, bit of polishing and painting then move onto interior!

Lots of plans still in store for the car

I dont get this whole, get what your tuner prefers business, or if the tuner knows how to tune said ecu then there is no problem with the ecu.

Im not having a go at you either SL1987;2927357, just in general it seems to be the attitude of every one, yeah Im all for taking into consideration what your tuner prefers, but no way in hell would I use a tuner that could only tune one brand of ecu anyway. It doesnt scream experience to me. Tuners should be able to tune each brand of ecu as well as the next, no matter what brand, the ease of tuning for the tuner would be different for a brand they use more often fir sure, but the outcome should be the same tune shouldnt it??

Main factors for me when choosing an ecu were
: Cost of ecu
: Cost of wiring, plug in or full re wire
: The biggest one was options and digital inputs
: Dash and data logging ability
: Previous experience with the brand

I couldnt care what the tuner preferred to tune, he could work it out or I would get some one else with more experience to do it instead.

Just saying

Love the car Mo

All gd jase, u are right in saying that tho.

Rang a cpl suppliers in WA and found drums of e85 that the v8 super cars use for testing for $600 per 44 gallon drum! Just weighing up whether it's worth going ahead with e85 while race season is not on and run more boost or just drop it back down to 17 and still making over 400 comfortably on pump.

i'd just go pump, try get a run before the track closes this year, then a 50/50 mix and tune just before next season.

sounds like its pretty stout dude, will be alot of fun.

why would you run a 50/50 mix when you can run E85 and drive it home?

I agree with you 100% on what your saying but at the end of the day not every tuner can tune or likes to tune every ECU thats out there on the market. When i had first built my VL i had taken it to well known joint in melbourne for its tune. Car was at his joint for 2weeks and all he could do was get the car started and tell me that i need a new ECU and buy a haltech or autronic because Microtech are ****. After taking the car and giving it to someone who works on Microtechs every day i had my car running mint in 1 or 2 days. Just because someone doesnt like the ECU doesnt make them ****..

50/50 gives better lubrication because ethanol is so dry and its alot cheaper. plenty of good results out there with mix. you can still wind in as much timing as you want, from what i read you will bend rods before you get detonation.

Keep some boost in it Mo, I'm running up around 25psi on BP 98. You have a larger turbo than mine so even on low 20's youll still have enough to launch the car to mid 10's.

Ended up with just over 440 on 20 psi and ALOT of torque! Still tidying up afew things and should be ready soon, not rushing i. Gona brig boost back to 17 were it still makes over 400 and keeps away from detonation! Don't want wat happened to my last motor!

Na jack Cbf, even if I did have it I still wouldn't taken it!

I still cant get over that torque figure, are all RB's making that much torque at these power levels? What torque are you expecting when you pump it up to full boost on E85?

Not sure mate, haven't looked at wat other cars are making with similar setups, the torque is pretty impressive, can't wait to drive it, should fry sum tyres :-)
