P-Plate Legal Mods

Hi guys, i have an 88 sl and want to have a bit of fun with it. What mods are legal for NSW p-plate licence holders? I'm not sure if anything has been posted on this topic but any help would be greatly appreciated

Nothing is legal. Concentrate on making the car tidy so when you come off P's can you put a turbo on it.

For now i'm sticking to cleaning it up. All rust work I got quoted $650 for boot seal and front window seal, i think theres a few other areas as well... Im doing a full re-spray myself also. Possible defects from brake upgrade or springs & shocks ?

these days p plate suck. u cant really have a modified car thats legal until your off em... plenty of people run the risk, and eventually get done. just the way it is.

The only real way to keep it legal is changes like diff gears, machine head for more comp and run thinner cosmetic gasket for even more comp, advance base timing and run good fuel. Can be done, but no worth the money. Best bang for buck p plate car is BA XR 6. Flash tune, filter. Appears legal and hose all your mates in there ecotec and n/a vl's

Nah best bang for buck P plater is a bridgeported 13b anyday. And yeah ive been down that road.. modding an N/A for power = Waste of money bigtime.

---------- Post added 06-11-11 at 10:03 ----------

Only Possible good mod would be put in a mx7 or r33 box with a manula conversion for a bit more go if your car is auto.
