Wagon build has started

Hey guys

The time has come to get rid of pretty much my entire drive line ( minus a few parts ).

Have a look in http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=74703 to get a brief run down on what is in & on the engine

To give you a run down, the car was flooded in march last year to the point where it was about 7 - 10cm deep in the foot wells. As it happens that is where my Wolf ECU sits and that in turn was flooded. it still seems to work, but i CBF with wolf anymore.

So the RB30ET + MX7 (minus tailshaft & crossmember) is coming out and the plan is to grab an S2 R33 halfcut and chuck the gear from that into the wagon. The master cylinder, slave cylinder and clutch fork was replaced last year by Dynamic Automotives. Literally drove the car home from the work shop, parked it up and didnt drive it, then the flood happened lol. And it obviously hasn't been started since.

The head was also done about 3 years ago and probably has 2000kms max on it. The old one cracked while Steve was trying to remove the lifters, cheers mate hahahaha.....A bare head was sourced and apparently was made to flow better, though i couldn't tell you if it does or not. new cam was chucked in, It's crow stock that has been ground to wade 1147c spec ( not sure why it was done that way ) and also new, stiffer springs were chucked in

The gearbox shifts are great now that the new master, slave and clutch fork is in. Though i think it could do with a new clutch. The reason being is that the car currently has 2.8 diff in it and taking off sucked nuts, I have also been told that there may be hot spots on the fly wheel. The thinking behind that from my mechanic at the time was due to the ridiculous diff.

I think that is all for the moment. Im going to try and get the manifolds, cooler, piping etc off during the week so i can try and get some pics up.

these is an engine bay shot here http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=47825 it is small so i will do my best to get some bigger ones.

Also if anyone has an engine crane i can borrow, for compensation of course, that would be awesome. As i would like to get this gear out as quickly as i can.

sorry for the long winded post, better to have all the facts though.

EDIT: Suppose i should acutally say that MOST of this gear will be for sale once i have taken it out and i will add to this thread.....sorry bout that. Things like the clutch master cylinder, gearbox cross member & brackets, clutch lines i will be keeping in order to do the conversion. There is good chance i will be keeping the tall engine so if i decide to chuck the rb30 back in / sell the wagon, it has matching numbers. So really what will be for sale is:

GTR cooler + piping
GTR injectors on rb20 fuel rail
Ray Ferrari plenum with XF throttle body.
MX-7 gearbox

but will update as i go along

Cheers

Christian

you are a champion mate. I will give you a yell when im ready to get it all out and we can sort out some kind of compensation.

Also if anyone is feeling particularly helpful and doesn't mind lending a hand to pull the engine and GB out i will chuck on beer and bbq while its happening and I will grab you a carton or a bottle of your preferred for your trouble.

cheers mate that would be awesome....im just going to be removing the manifolds and cooler etc this weekend. Basically making room to remove the engine without all the 5hit hanging of it. The plan at the moment is to try and remove the engine next weekend on the sunday which i think is the 16th.

vlwagonit: cheers mate, good to know that i dont have to struggle with that 1 bolt.
