Note: The rims came free from a extreme thankfully donour

Got my hands on some clean VL Calais door trims (Series I). Also have the handles to suit on the way. I just have one thing on my mind. Ever since on my old trims i had speakers where the door pockets are i dont know where to put them on the door, i was thinking ether beside it or on top of it.. any suggestions?

I'd just put some quality speakers in the dash and leave the door trims is they are!

its finally back!

Just more photo's of me pulling apart the diff

Also i've been having a lot of the "tick tick tick" noise in the engine bay which i have confirmed is the lifters. Ive tried the lifter cleaning products which you just mix with the oil, Has not been working so i think its about time to tend to the lifters themselves

Hey guys. How about an update?! have been gone for sometime and i do have my reasons but anyway Ive still found time to work on my pride and job. So here's something new.
So for starters i got a that new VL Tubro diff it and its working amazing

I got a sub install done. Got a Sony 1000w sub with a 500w amp plugged into it running 4 gauge wire. The amps wall was made my your truly with so MDA, carpet and staple gun

Got a BIG brake upgarde on the front. Managed to get my hands on so UPC twin piston calipers and 330mm rotors in a kit for only. When to the wreckers and got a VT brake master cylinder and a VS brake booster and reservoir and last i got the Brake line adapters from the guys at Hopper Stoppers. all up only cost me 600 bucks. highly recommend on early commodores, worth the money

Got Venetians. that's a thing. Not sure how i feel about them. might go Black on them or take them off.

So hardwired this GPS unit. handy and looks good

Now as go the engine. might has almost done 300,000km and i posted i awhile ago it was "on its last legs" so its kinda dead now. I brought this one that has done 100xxxkms and Im going to rebuild it a little or a lot and make it look awesome then put it in the VL. Already have forward facing plenum on its way which i got for 100 bucks so who could argue with that. also got so other bit n pieces with the engine which i brought for 120 bucks all together.

Sooooo back to the panels again guys. just getting a touch up and fixing that dam window rust, the back is getting pretty bad now and the front windscreen has broken from the rust, should of got this done when i did the respray but i didn't know much about VL's or cars in generally then so yeh :/ . so I'm going be doing that. I'm considering doing a tint, Driving at night with no tint and driving towards someone with HIDS or something is blinding compared to with tint so I'm not sure because i do like it without the tint.

Also got some side skirts finally. Going to paint them my blue. I like two tone and all but I'd like my calais mock to have just a bit of a different look

Now as for the engine, that is getting under way and looking good. Cleaned the whole thing and sprayed the rocket cover so nice colour. Problem is my gearbox is stuffed on 2nd and does smoke up a bit sometimes so ether going to go get a R33 GTS-T box and just find a MX7 if possible and the box i got with my new engine is completely gone. If there is something cheap or better please let me know. ALSO i need to do a boot battery install because my forward facing plenum with need the space where my battery is located so i can put the pod filter there or make a hole though the battery area to get a cold air intake. Considered a intercooler, i don't know much about them so some advice on that would be helpful. Thanks guy

Great job on the build, you have definitely put In the hard yards and it's payed off!
When the exterior is complete Calais it will look the goods, looks like your going down the turbo conversion road? Starting off with the diff, brakes and box is the best start rather then slapping on a turbo and blowing everything 1 by 1.
Good shit lol.

yeh id defiantly like to change my VL it to some crazy HP machine. So many options though with engines when it comes to power. might throw a sneaky tubro on but i still got way to long to get off my P's. sucks
