So have just been reminded about this thread so just thought id give a bit of an update...

The motor sat in this stage for a couple of months so i could arrange a quote for paint and panel...

The next step was to get the engine back in the engine bay and have everything dummy fitted before paint which was booked in for mid Feb, however the painter is currently still finishing off another project so has asked for another months (mid March)

So car is currently at the workshop...

First stage was custom exhaust manifold, GT35/40 .82 rear, Turbosmart 50mm waste gate and dump pipe

So currently waiting for PWR Intercooler and piping (should be here this week) CPC Street Plenum and throttel body, once thats all set up ill pull everything back out and send it in for paint...

Good work mate u must want it bad lol that's insane I can't imagine spending that much on a car even compared to buying a new car. Have u bought a house if u have that much to throw on an engine. Hope u enjoy every cent of it.

I'm going to build a stock spec 30et 1 day n spend all my cash on Oil, Cooling and Engine management systems. That's what can let the engine down, no matter what it's got in it. Oh and stupid drivers. Cars arnt ment to last n there short n sweet enjoy them y you can.

would you pit ur weakest part against the strongest part in your engine?
It comes down this in my book

Money is all worth it, do it once do it right!
Try to do as much as i can myself n get prices to save money...

I didnt just decide to build a car n borrow money, i saved for around 3 years, made sure i had enough money to get the car finished before i even bought it, and yeah got the important things done before i worried about doing a car...

any way here are some more photos, motor is coming back out as its going in for paint soon, wrapped all the parts up for storage...

Finaly found a donor car as well, all original stock VL Exec for $400 will post pics soon

Opened up the diff to check what gears are in and to make sure its LSD and all in goood order.

Diff Gears are 3.45's and is a LSD, now just waiting till tomorrow for some oil and a new gasket to come in.

After a clean up...

Once the diff is sorted, ill get stuck into the gear box, needs a good clean and a paint...
Having second thoughts about keeping it manual, but cant make up my mind, from what ive read a manualized auto seems the go...

Id really like to hit the a flat 10.0 but thats not going to happen with the MX7
If i go the auto i should hit 10.0?

Also are 3.45's the go or should i consider changing them 3.9's etc etc

maybe move the fuse box to the glove box - what about the airbox ones? box the rails? there? pop out the dip in the d/s guard? push down the rise in the p/s guard?

Cheers boys looks a bit out of place so I'll remove it, also I noticed there's 2 bolts on each side, 2x where the battery would be and 2x where the air box would be... I'm pretty sure there ok to be welded up but just wanted to make sure the not for the bumper bars or anything???
