Has anyone here got a spare vlt fuel regulator and/or a spare overboost valve?
I have a feeling the fuel reg on my vlt is either faulty or the wrong type. Want to test before I buy a new one.

Also my overboost valve has been welded shut, so looking for a new one. If i can't find one ill look into breaking the welds.

the OBV will be hard to find in NZ try these forums or ebay. I sold my spare one back over the ditch be prepared to pay thru your nose if you want standard vlt gear

Just put some new Plugs and leads on it today and its running a lot better now, But still have a petrol smell in the engine bay, which i thought was fixed when i got the injectors sorted earlier.

Going to try to take the OBV to McGregors this week see if they can pop the welds off without damaging it.

If i get an adjustable Fuel Reg whats type would be the best to get?

I've heard the N/a one is slightly different.
Might just get a rising rate 1:1. Any brands people recommend? Don't want to get caught out buying some cheap ebay one.

The fuel smell is very faint, pretty much need to put my nose right up to the fuel rail to smell it, but still annoys me since i got it all checked out at the start of the year.

The car was running like utter **** before i replaced the plugs and leads. Its better now, but i have the rego on hold so didn't want to drive it around too much to test it out. As it was i had a Cop follow me :-S

Inspect fuel lines and injectors. I had a faint smell and 5 leaking injectors man for god knows how long. feel around to find the wet spot progress sounds good mate
PS REGULATOR N/A and ET regs bolt to there dedicated fuel rails u cant mix and match n/a reg on turbo rail and manifold (they bolt up diff).

Been having lots of problems with my sv6 so thats been holding me back from putting any money towards the vl. Stupid alloytechs, how did Aaron ever convince me to get one. :-P

The VL was pretty good with oil only problem really was blowing it out the bov. The turbo is in really good condition. My guess is its just blow by, was going to see if my mate could fab me up a catch can.

All that happens is a faint knock on idle. but when you put lots of load on the engine its quite loud. Other than that it runs really well. Had 2 mechanics have a look/listen and both said bottom end bearing.

The breather hoses go right to where the bov is mounted. So that was my guess. Have had the turbo check and seems good. The car was runny really thin/watery oil when i first got it which probably didn't help things.

Ah yes my SV6, Had 2 O2 sensors crap out, waterpump shat itself, sparkplugs turn to ****, and it still runs abit **** on idle or going up steep hills.. Pretty sure my waterpump is leaking again. Not as much as it was the first time it leaked but still.
One thing mine had on yours Aaron was my steering wheel buttons work perfect and so did my boot popper in the boot. Yeap even after you told me to never pull it i did and it worked perfectly :-). Currently looking for a new car but i love the look of the vz's so will have to save for an SS.

Engine came out today, was an interesting task.

Has anyone got any books or anything to help with putting **** back together "Properly" I can tell the engine has been out before and somethings just didn't seem right. Sooo many sheared or missing bolts, Mainly exhaust manifold.

Also going to start pulling it all apart to sort the bearings out, anyone got good info that could help out?

How was the bottom end?
