Yeah lol - catch up for beer sometime and have a look at that wagon hey

2 new fuel pumps are in, still no cooler piping - have a U shaped silicon pipe joiner going from the turbo to the crossover pipe - was able to test drive it around the block a few times

Couple pics from today.....

With the U shaped joiner (running very low boost)

Leaving the top bumper trim off until I've got the cooler piping done properly etc

Exhaust is on, power steering works, new number plates - so its deffinately driveable (on a very low ~6psi)
Have a few odds and ends to sort out though - took it for a nice little drive up the coast this evening to see the sun set
And DAMN the 25 sounds sweeet

I think its about time I updated this thread......

Calais has been going for nearly two months and its great!
Have had a couple of problems which have been sorted out -
1) Exhaust scraping over everything. Had to be cut and twisted slightly as the RB30 dump pipes are on a different angle to the RB25 ones.

2) Rear gearbox seal leaking. Lovely smell as it leaked over the exhaust Fitted a new seal

3) I had 2 coolant hoses blow on me. Before I put the motor in, I considered replacing all the coolant hoses, but I got too excited and just wanted to get the VL running. Anyways I dont have small girly hands and its a fairly tight fit with the twin cam head in the VL bay, but every single coolant hose has now been replaced. Cost me a bit as most of them are genuine Nissan hoses, for the 3 straight hoses I just used generic hose. I recommend changing them all if you buy a motor that has been sitting around for a while... a lot of blood and sweat went into changing those hoses.

4) On my 3rd radiator now. 1st one was blocked, 2nd one had a leaking end tank. Paid a visit to Matt (mr_12 on forums) at Natrad Joondalup who hooked me up with a new genuine radiator. Hint: sometimes its good to stay away from old radiators

Have also fitted a turbotech manual boost controller and a nismo adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Still on low boost but I dont need much more at the moment. Its great to drive. Gets over 500km out of a tank of fuel which is over 100km more than my last Naturally Aspirated Calais.

To do list -
Aircon - will take it up to Matt at Natrad to sort this out!
Cruise control - I need a stagea throttle body which has the second cable pulled to bolt onto my throttle body, and then a custom cable made up.
Almost time for some new rear tyres too....

Those Turbotech boost controllers are a good $30 investment... Had one on my Stagea and never creeped once..

All you have to do now is set to boost to 10-11psi but just be cautious of the RB25 coilpacks because their prone to getting cracks which will cause the car to splutter with more boost.

oh yeah - I was having pretty bad spark break down so I bought 'Yellow Jackets' coil packs which are supposedly one of the best on the market these days - thats another one to add to the list of things done lately
