Don't be too harsh on your self man, the first time at the motorplex is always pretty nerve wracking, i went down literally 3 weeks in a row to try and get a better time...

18's would probably be better, depends on the quality and how much tread is left

but then why waste your tyres?

---------- Post added 17-09-10 at 09:58 ----------

my boost tee come's early next week so if i line up some stockies and get it going nicecly i should be down soon

You guys have no idea. A good set of stockies let down to about 15-18psi will be way better than 18's....

Indeed. Look at older cars with big wheels and their 60ft times will be horrendous.

At the drags it's more about how much tyre there is?

Lower profile = bad?

^ahah im still on 2.2 60'ers as well

as a general rule, a higher profile tire with lower air pressure will give more sidewall flex which translates into traction. like the wrinkle in slicks on launches;

obviously tread pattern and compound play a role as well though.

That track needs so much work before the grand opening.
Doubt the track will be anything special then either. Glad i got a slider clutch. Brittos vl has easily got another couple hundred hp left to get out of it with the tune up,
