My best mate has an exemption from the chief commisioner of roads and safety (vicroads management) for his Vl turbo in writing. It's on straight LPG. He had to fight for it over about 6 months prior to going for his p's, but all worth it now as he drives it hassle free.

i drive a yellow bt1 on my p's.. i just got them on june 7th so far have not been hastled. been pulled over once, seen numorous cops & went through booze buses... i still have the turbo badge, massive cam, cooler, eboost gauge, & a JPC turbocharging sticker on the back window & never been hastled... if you don't do anything stupid, be polite to the police you should not have too much of an issue, BUT in saying that some cops will **** you for anything they can just based on their moods & professionalism

ive contacted the head office of vicroads and spokin directly to the person incharge on exemptions victoria, he explained to me that it doesnt go through a person but a computer. The computer makes the decision, he said to me there isnt a legal way to drive a VLT because as soon as the model is entered in the computer its a simple NO...

thats why id like someone to post a scanned copy so i can see proof, and then argue the point...

if you turbo an N/a you wont have a chance at them letting you. only way would be if it was a bog stock from factory turbo with no mods what so ever .other wise take the risk and dont drive in hot spots (also if its your only car i wouldnt turbo it till you have a car to get to work ect as they do brake down afair bit with there age.

If you rebuild your vl from scratch like im doing. it wont break down. if you keep 20 year old parts on your car, of course its going to break down.

lol, u havent had much experiences with VLT's have you? doesnt matter how many new parts and how much you spend on it, its still going to spend more time in the garage/workshop than on the road!!!

id love to see this cert of exemption also, but good chance it does not exist....
