WA Midwest VLC white ovaa white

Hey everyone i've been checkin out your cars on here for years while waiting to get my license and my 1986 vl calais N/A. We've had the calais in the family since 1987 when dad got it, it was our only car until 2004 when we brought another car, so long story short the calais sat in a shed for 4 yrs then under a tarp for another year or so, until we finally decided to get it restored.

the panelbeater said there was too much rust around the windscreen n boot so luckily there was a blue vl commodore at the same workshop for sale so we used her body instead
more photos of the process...he actually took a good 8months too do all this. We took the motor out from the vl calais n figured the commodores one was much better so we ended up putting it back in and transferred all the calais parts into the commodores shell.

primmmin time

took a couple of weeks once it was ready to be painted since we were stuck with a typical panelbeater

my mate with the vs ute and i actually spent more workin on the vl than the pano did...bull****nesssss but we had a good fun and the pop ups didnt work at this time.

finally got her home n gave it some TLC before it went too the mechanic, so he could go over it, before it went to the RAC for its plates.
Bad news was the mechanic was flat out and couldnt work on the car for at least a month so it sat in my garage until then.
Finally we thought she'd be done soon when we took her out there but after a look over he wasnt impressed with the panelbeaters work and replaced countless parts including having to take the motor out for seals that shoulda been checked when the motor was out a couple months prior. So the time he allocated for the ''look over'' wasnt enough and had to wait until a later date when he could get too it. He finally did and we booked it into the RAC, only to get rejected because the pop-up lights had to work, 3inch exhaust was too loud and light above the number plate didnt work. So back to the workshop it went for another week where the pop ups were fixed and a 2.5inch exhaust installed. Then she finally got her plates!

first arvo i took it out for a drive i got pulled up! also the first time i been pulled over haa

currently have fitted a momo competition wheel, vs door speaker pods with 6inchs, 6.5s on the rear and new tread.

Hope ya had a good look and let me know what yas think i should do next too her fellas.

I disagree; I personally think white over white VLs in anmy model are very hard to pull off without making it look cheap (something about white over white looks ****). But I really like it with the white Walky wheels.

What tyres are they specifically? I like the way writing is in white too.

ooo so we pulled it off? its how dad had it before me so just wanted too keep it that way but make it look cleaner. They arent walky rims bro theyre 15inch CSA rims, been on the car since we've owned it. The raised white lettering is no longer!! as none of the companies my mechanic goes through makes them so its got plain black hankooks now (but yes i did prefer the white writing too). Heres a couple photos of how it was for ya dude..

I think your needs the silver trim and calais side pannels and lower moulds.
I don't mind your dads wheels either, besides its the only calais in town so its fairly unique round those parts.
Have you tired star freight? They courier up to Karratha all the time.
