WTB: Valentine V1

either the hidden one or a screen mounted one, preferably second hand.

otherwise a heads up on a good price anywhere would also be sweet, best price i've found in WA is $720 for the windscreen detector (there are cheaper ones off the net, but there are different models in different continents and im having a hard time finding a site i trust enough)

Mate BELTRONICS STI XR are way better than the valantines and have been the best radar detectors for the past 4 years

Radar detectors becoming obsolete with new laser cameras aren't they?
Need to get one of those things that was in the paper than interferes with laser readings me thinks.

incorrect now, v1 has proven itself against new lasar (LIDAR) cameras etc.
been researching for the past week and a bit and bel sti has been failing hardcore on the new systems... not disputing how good it works for the ka band ones etc, but falling on its face with the new setup.

they only have twenty something lazer setups in wa atm, so we should expect both K-band and lasers for now, v1 does well for both.

These guys used to sponsor CCCWA when I was involved with the committee and I didn't hear of any problems and they were reliable. They also have a shop. Their site says a little more than the price you said above for a V1 but you could probably see if they price match.
