I never though the day would come...

Ive started re assembly, but its raining today so theres only so much i can do. Got my chasers on, all the window trim and a few plastics.
Im so happy I love the colour, its an antique/off/sno white just how i wanted it... not a bright vivid alpine white.. so sexy
All up the spray job cost $1,000 even including paint, with all the prep done by me and on mates rates. not too bad!

More happy snaps.. Front and rear bumpers on, aswell as headlights. I ordered some TYC head lights and im gonna put the new reflectors and use the Holden lenses cause my lights the moment are a bit more like candles.

The whole front bumper is after market which is was a bit anxious about, but it fit perfect with no mods. Consistent gap on the join and lined up perfect with the original trim.. id recommend them to anyone.

Got the rear windscreen in aswell.. (since above pics) Cant wait til the adhesive dries so i can finally put my venetians in which have just been sitting around collecting dust for the past 6 months
Whats left to do... door bars, door handles, door locks, boot lid, boot locks, venetains, door trims and pump the tyres up. And one other thing... go crusing!

Got a bit more done, got my door strips, boot lid on, rear window, tail lights and my venetians in. Whats left to do is get the door trims and a few interior bits back on, paint the door handles and tail lights plus and garnish satin black cause theyre pretty faded and chipped.

Action shot! finally driving it again

Dont mind my missing rear door handles (were being painted)

My next two undertakings for VL is to do a boot layout.. going to sheet the boot off with carpeted plywood with an inlayed sub and hidden amps and wiring etc.. will post up pics when i start, and inlay gauges in the sunglass holder, water temp and oil pressure

thanks man, yeah it sure has come along alot. Ill get started on the boot layout this weekend! Ill come up with something good ... i love doing little neat tricky mods on my car, like the ipod and phone charger which work a tread by the way

My future plans were to drop the driveline out of my car a few months before my full licence and build the V8 driveline intime for my full licence (family relative built a 308 to 550rwhp on standard stroke, single carb n/a.. so i wanted a fat as fcuk 304). LAter on pick up a ****ter vl wagon and put all my go-fast bits in it and eventually chuck on a stock turbo kit and go dosing.
Now i just wanna turbo my car OPINIONS PLEASE

Decided to stick to stick to my guns and V8 mine... always wanted a V8. I just want a quick fat FUN street able cruiser. A slightly worked V8 with a loud exhaust and a manual behind with a taller ratio diff and a spool is exactly that in my eyes Theres 100s of VL running around with hi flowed T3s each making 180 rwkw. I wanna do something different

This weekend i gernied my gaurds and underside of the VL and will give the gaurds and spare tyre well a coat of black kill rust tomorrow when it all dries out where its got white over spray on it to hide it all and look a bit neater.

A quick sketch of what i propose for a layout...

---------- Post added 27-03-11 at 13:08 ----------

Got a pushed outwards dent in my boot from the ****ing sub, a flat tyre and the stereos started ****ing up all in one day WHAT NEXT ****ing pissed off

Ive decided to boost the car.. i get my full licence in 18 months and will build up a s2 a6 on the side, and put it in along with a r33 manual one month out of my licence. I eventually want to crank out 300rwhp and ill be content. Ive got a turbo kit lined up to buy of a mate in about 9 months time when he pulls down his car for a rebuild

awesome mate.. ahh i forgot the gasket.
I wasnt sure about the turbo.. note my question mark (lol) ive spoken to a few people and thought it was in my HP range.. like i said im still learning. Id possibly to tune it and up the boost as more is never enough, got a rough horse power quote for a GT3540?

VLT diff for $850? ive seen good ones going for $1500.. theyre not getting cheaper.

GT3540 is a good turbo for the street on a RB30... Will make pretty good power on low boost and when you get more confident will crack over 300rwkw through a manual with more boost.

Theres diff centers on ebay for $850... should be able to pickup some 28 spline axels cheap from a noob wrecker.... or you could minispool a stock 25 spline diff as a cheap temporary measure...

completely agree.

for the price you can get even 31 spline axles and centres for. theres no reason to be cheap **** on something like that, id rather not have the possibility of snappin an axle at speed and get sent into a wall

Ok.. well I guess when your a retarded qualified machinist and panel beater it doesn't really matter if an axel snapped and put you into a wall because you'd just build another car..
