whats my best option???

hey everyone as some of you might or might not know i got defected last night. for to low so its off to regency.
now im not 100% sure which way to do things. I was taking the car off the rd today to put all my turbo driveline in anyway. I wouldnt get through with the motor that is in there now coz the sump is drenched and havnt really had a look at where its coming from. alos injectors are leaking.
what i was thinking is still put all my turbo driveline in then clean everything up then get the defect off and get it complied as a turbo car at the same time. whats your thoughts ??? as i really dont know what to do

yeah do that, when you put your turbo gear in, make it neat, fix up any leaking gaskets, thats what vlwagz did, got it complied as turbo. And obviously go through with standard height suspension and legal wheels.

yeah i got all my turbo gear complied at the same time but if you get a wanker its ment to be a different inspection to get the motor and brakes looked at and that $214 then the $170 for defect but i just gave the SOR paperwork to him when i went through for defect and he did it all in one. i have heard people passing with the cooler hanging down a tad but not heaps. also make sure you upgrade your brakes to atleast turbo brakes for the conversion. im not sure if calais brakes are the same as turbo ones. goodluck pm me if ya need any help as i only went through a month ago.

calais and turbo ones are different, you'll also need a disc rear end if your calais doesnt have one already, i probably wouldnt risk it with the cooler hanging down, but you can try it

As long as the reinforcement bar is not cut, I don't think it matters. My intercooler hangs down a bit and I got through, but I had a engineers report for reo bar being cut as it was too much stuffing around to change.

I also got my RB25 complied the same time I got the defect off, it's just an extra fee aswell as the brake test.

I never had an issue with my front mount hanging low as ya nanna's boobies LOL!

But in all seriousness aslong as the reo isn't chopped it isn't a problem - I even passed twice with a chopped reo.

Do your turbo gear, fix everything, get it perfect, then put it through man - You got nothing but time so just take it easy putting it in and yeah get it all perfect.

Disk brakes all round will be fine, but hey since your doing it all properlly just get twin piston VT calipers and hub adaptors etc.
