RB30ET VK SS Group A -- [CRMNL]

Bought the car off this site around 18 months ago with an auto 202 in it. Hated it, stupid thing would start chugging when you put your foot down for too long, which you had to do to keep up with traffic. So put a 5spd behind it, and was still hopeless. Went into Seres Engineering to get my spool put in a few days before Easternats, and he kept begging me to put an RB in it. Was losing my license the day after 'nats anyway, so told him to come and pick it up. Saved me having to find somewhere to keep it.

Plans started off pretty simple. 10k budget, use one of their built motors, find a second hand turbo, diff, and gearbox, injectors and away we go... then I went stupid. Kept upgrading everything as I went, figured might as well do it properly the first time. Then after talking to engineers they said they wouldn't pass it with the 35/40 on it, so we ran it N/A and had to buy a bunch of emissions gear and whatnot. Was well worth it in the end just to see the look on peoples faces when a Group A drops a dose







Basic rundown of the car:
RUNNING GEAR

RB30E balanced acid dipped, Hypatec pistons with hastings rings, vlt oil pump, new water pump, acl race bearings, MLS-R 3 layer metal headgasket, head work, custom cam, psr external wastegate with screamer pipe, gt3582r 1.06 rear, duz360 plenum, billet fuel rail with 660cc injectors, bosch .044 fuel pump with a pierburg high volume lift pump(intank), 450x300x100 cooler, 3" exhaust, xf throttle body, wolf 3d v4 ECU

DRIVELINE
Gearbox: mx7 5spd, strengthened, excedy cushion button clutch, machined flywheel
Diff: VL LSD
Suspension: Kingspring Superlows, all bushes replaced etc, larger swaybar.

INTERIOR
Trim: Full cereluean blue calais interior. VL centre console (VK one doesn't fit over VL gearstick )
Gauges: Autometer Monster Tacho, Speco meter oil, water, boost on bonnet.
Steering Wheel: Autotecnica. Only one I could find that had padding and looked decent, sick of the defects from non-padded ones.

STEREO
Head unit: Flip out Pioneer DVD screen
Speakers: Front- 240w Pioneer | Rear - 280w MBQuartz
Amp: none anymore
Subs: none anymore (got forced to take it all out to reduce weight )

EXTERIOR
Wheels: 19" VX GTS / 15x4 Convo Pros and ceptors with slicks
Paint: Formula Blue
Bodykit: Original HDT Group A kit, with HDT stamps
Group 3 scoop, molded around gauges

Made 260rwkw on its first tune on what's apparently a low reading dyno, hoping to hit closer to 300 with a bit more work. Interior is next, got VE GTS seats just saving up to get them trimmed and a custom rear seat made up, then it's time for a 26 head and trying to get a feature

maybe the tunner... ps just looking at your mods your car should have made more then 300 at 20 psi being manual

and yours is a 350 monaro would be so much better if it was a 400

this car would look better with out the scoup ps i also saw this on my way to the city i think 2-3 weeks ago with i think that steel guy what ever his name is in the passanger seat i was gonna yell out but cbf i was cho/shashed

Yes I still do, Might have something new up my sleeeve in the coming year.

i only put the scoop on about a year ago, got pics of it when it didn't have one i'll put them up later... doesn't look tough enough :P

yeah would've been steel, was the night the car was finished so he came out to make sure nothing went wrong... good service haha :P

It's about to be pulled off the road again as soon as my ute sells for more work. Thinking of converting to auto as it just keeps eating clutches at the moment, and it's slowing me down racing. Depending on how much money I've got left after that, hoping to get the custom interior done finally.

Gonna change wheels too, getting a bit bored of this look :P and a couple of other little things. Tossing up whether to change the plates or not too, don't think these ones suit it but everyone knows it with them on.

Anyway hoping to have some updates soon.

really nice car, but for me I would much rather associate a depe rumble from a carby fed v8 with the look, but.. in saying that you've a great job with the rb.

yeah lol.. pretty sure it'd sound like every other RB30 with a TX2 or 1147c cam in it :P

U can never mistake a RB30 for a V8.. ever.. unless you dont know what either one sounds like.
