Yeah i been thinking about this all day now and i like the gloss black idea.

Go for a polished metal (turbo, cooler pipes) and black engine bay theme with a little body colour here and there.

Rick if you really thought that u would have black. I had the same idea man, but when it comes down to it a black bay in anything younger than a torana etc looks like you skimmped on it. I dont know if ur goin for looks or speed or both. if its purely speed go black no point in wasting the money.I feel when its all done and you look at other vl bays colour coded you will end up doing it again if you go black.

It's only coz the LS1 takes up 99% of the bay, where an RB engine you see more of the inner guards, look at GAS747 engine bay, i bloody loved the gloss black look.

Scotty's will be all show with a F-load of GO.

We have just figures out how to control his gear shifting with one arm, "which has to be on the steering wheel at all times"...

We are setting up a dummy clutch pedal with a 2 way switch located on the pedal, it will be controlled by a PCS auto control module with a "up shift" toe pushed forward, and a "down shift" heel kicked back.

This will allow Scott to maintain his one hand on the steering wheel at all times but when in gauged, like a trip tronic setup, sports mode where he can up shift via his foot.

tell ya what Rick, when I had my Hatch Back Torana(10.20@134) I had a central locking solin hooked up to the shift lift so in first gear when it left the line hard it would activate and change from 1st to 2nd for me, maybe something like that would help,

I lost my right arm in a moto accident, had a head on with a rodeo when i was just cruising along at 63 km/h on my 05 honda cbr1000rr.

Hell yeah whitey cant wait to see it all working and also any other tricky bits you boys down there have lined up for me

Hey everyone i just pulled the head off and my sump off my RB30ET and it looks like the whole rotating assembly has been balanced. I came too this conclusion because the bottom of the middle two lobes of the crank has been machined and there are heaps of drill marks in the bottom and in some of the conrods, is this correct? (pics in the morning)

I also had a look at the bottom of the pistons and it reads on one side N1 and the the other side of the bottom reads BM0031

Can someone please help me with this and tell me what pistons i have, the rods appear to be standard ones.

Also how do you tell what the cam is? I couldnt get the cam seal off but i will in the morning.

First pic is where it says N1 on the underside of the piston.
Second one is where it says BM0031
Third is the top of the piston.

hmmm N1 pistons ?? pretty sure they may be gtr pistons if im not
mistaken ??

ok well i just did some searching and by the looks of it they
appear to be stock vl turbo pistons

they are definetely NOT gtr pistons, nor any twin cam piston, more than likely they are standard nissan pistons at a guess.
