Taking over the pits!

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone could give me a heads up. Im planning on buying a vl turbo from over east and bringing it over here which involves taking it over the pits once it arrives here. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which mods out of this list would not make it over the pits i have no clue. Or if its just not worth the time effort and money.

Well heres the list of mods:
TURBO FRONT BRAKES
MINI SPOOL REAR DISC BRAKES
LOWERED SUSPENSION
INTANK PRE-PUMP & 500 HP WALBRO MAIN PUMP
SURGE TANK
MICROTECH COMPUTER LT12S WITH HANDSET
6X BOSCH GT40 COIL PACKS
550 CC INJECTORS
MALPASI RISING RATE FUEL REGULATOR
TURBONETICS TURBO T66
GARRETT 48ML EXTERNAL WASTEGATE
CUSTOM FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER AND PIPING
BLOW OFF VALVE
3" CUSTOM EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH 4" DUMPER
E-BOOST BOOST CONTROLLER
TURBO TIMER
AUTO METER PRO COMP TACH 11000RPM
TRUST GEAR KNOB SHORT SHIFT & MOMO S/WHEEL
BRASS BUTTON CLUTCH

Cheers guys

probably most of that **** wont pass unless its been approved by engineering signatory. depends where u go and who u get but try anyway

minispool
BOV
Intercooler
External Wastgate

Those 4 probably your main concern and exhaust obviously depending on how loud it is and how low they gone with the suspension. Also they might have a whinge about your clutch and possibly some of that interior stuff like the tacho. Possibly that surge tank as well.

good luck anyway man

if its already registered over there you wont need to take it over the pits, im pretty sure that they changed the rules coz so many cars were coming from east and had no problems passing so they cancelled the whole deal. but if i got it i would **** the spool off straight away, pain in the arse

recently had a mate bring over a wrx, he had to get a permit to drive it from the border to his house, and any time he drove it to get stuff changed so he could take it over the pits. it was fully registered in NSW, but to be registered here get the WA plates he had to take it over the pits.

took me 30 secs to find the real info, not what their mate's mate's girlfriends cousin's brother in law's son said.....

http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/yourvehicle/1383.asp

Bringing an interstate vehicle to Western Australia

Interstate vehicles that meet specific criteria do not require inspection before being licensed in Western Australia.
What vehicles qualify?

* Motor cars

* Goods/commercial vehicles

* Trailers, including trailer plant

* Caravans

* Motorcycles, including mopeds

What specific criteria must they meet?

The vehicle must be:

* A light vehicle (Tare weight/Aggregate weight less than 4500kg.)

* Currently licensed in your name in any Australian jurisdiction

* Licensed in your name for at least 12 months.

* Fitted with a Government approved immobiliser
To be licensed in Western Australia, motor vehicles must have either a factory fitted or Government approved immobiliser. This does not apply to :
o Vehicles that are 25 years or older
o Vehicles that have a Tare weight over 3000 kg
o Motorcycles

* Unmodified or issued with a modification permit
For more information on modifications, see our Vehicle safety section.

* Not subject to annual inspections
The following vehicles must be examined prior to the issue of a Western Australian vehicle licence:
o Taxis;
o Hire Vehicles;
o Omnibuses;
o Driving School vehicles;
o Vehicles with 13 seats or more, including the driver;
o School buses; and
o Vehicles used primarily to carry children to and from school (8 seats or more).

How do I license my vehicle if it does not require an inspection?

If your vehicle meets all eligibility and documentation requirements, it doesn't need to be inspected.

To license the vehicle in this case, you will need to attend a Licensing Centre or Regional Agent with the required documentation.
What documentation do I need?

The following documentation is required to support your application. If you cannot provide all of the below, your vehicle must be examined.

* Evidence of Tare weight for all vehicles except motorcycles.
Tare weight is sometimes referred to as ‘Mass’.

The Department will accept any of the following:
o Vehicle licence papers.
o Original owner's hand book (or similar); or
o Weighbridge certificate.

* Evidence of Aggregate weight for all load carrying vehicles (towed and commercial/goods vehicles).
Aggregate weight is sometimes referred to as GVM, GTM or ATM.

The Department will accept either:
o Vehicle licence papers; or
o Original owner's hand book (or similar).

* Evidence the vehicle has been licensed in your name for at least 12 months.
The Department will accept any of the following issued in your name, dated more than 12 months ago:
o Vehicle licence or renewal document;
o An offer to purchase, bill of sale or receipt;
o An inspection receipt from a licensing authority or approved inspection station; or
o An original owner’s hand book or similar, issued with a factory new vehicle.

You will also need:

* A completed Application to Licence Interstate Vehicle' (MR 20).
You can download this from the Forms section.

* Proof of identity and residency.
See the Proof of Identity section for more information.

* Your vehicle number plates.

* The appropriate fees to licence your vehicle for 6 or 12 months.
You can find these in the Fees and Charges section.

For more information, please contact us.
