Yeah clearly it is lol. I think Ben was comparing it to a T51R although are they that much bigger?

a KAI is only 800hp and the SPL is like 900? Z is about 700 i believe. But on a car, theres a limit to how much boost you can run on pump gas, so differences in horsepower at the tyres between a SPL and a T04Z i think would be somewhat minimal. Sure ramp up the boost on C16 and the SPL will shine, but for the street, and pump gas, MEH!

Ive got the T04z on sarahs calais (RB26) as i thought it would be a good option for the street, it's ok but no were near as responsive as the (T51r HKS) and pound for pound comes no were near the same sort of power level although could be a totally different story on an rb30

t04z on a 26 without big boost would be a laggy fvker. The 51r is made FOR the GTR in my opinion, its awesome. But with the SOHC setup, rajab's warned me away from the 51r, they said they'd tried it and got too much compressor surge and it wouldnt make power. So i went the garrett Z (i think you influenced me that way in the beginning too shane?) i think with the extra capacity, i should get fairly decent response. Kyle made the manifold and he agreed the Z would be the best option.

22 pound, lets see how it goes.

why the fck go dohc when the sohc setup will take you deep into the 8s? I wanted to keep the genuineness of the motor by retaining the single cam, and really man, the difference as i've explained before, on pump gas, would be minimal.

However if you want to be a showy prick, then by all means, put the 26 head on it. But id rather have a built sohc over a standard 26. So thats what i did.

yeh damn those showy pricks...with their standard 26s.....

its all about efficiency...

and what are you on about pump fuel? im pretty sure a twincam motor will make more power than a sohc on pump....and probably on less boost.

i like both !

but i do personally think a dohc will come on boost faster and being 4 valves per cylinder will flow alot more which =hp...

all depends on the piggy bank and peoples dreams i guess though

Maybe the twincam WOULD make more power, the point im making is who gives a flying ****? The difference in power would mean running a 9.80 vs a 9.75, and really, i think the biggest problem in running a good number would be the person driving. So why waste 10k+ building a 26 head properly (i dont do things in halves, standard is not an option) when you can just as fast with SOHC.

Sure everyone can blab **** about efficiency and this and that, end of the day power is power, and i'll have enough to run a 9 with a sohc, thats quick enough for me thanks very much.

And yeah fmx939 - sorry mate dont know your name - it will be run on pump gas at the drags, with a powerglide. Then i'm going to chuck a manual in it and run the show scene for a bit.
