All depends on the type and colour.

I reckon FR's complement Calais really well. But I am also a fan of Calais International wheels on a VL Calais'.

I reckon the newer Holden wheels suit the Berlina's/ SL's more.

Each to their own i suppose.

Alright these are just opinions... don't shoot me! I like almost every wheel but I do have a few things to say about the most popular ones on the VL scene...

AME Modelarts are my all time favorites on a VL, followed by Pryders.

FRs look nice but a bit boring we're moving into 2009 and they've just been so popular now for so long. Bring on the FR20, Simmons OMs are nice as well.

VY Sigs are over, they were once a premium wheel that only the best VLTs had however now you see them for sale for near nothing and quite often bolted to cars that look like they're worth even less.

VY GTS is a nice design and a little less common than sigs although for the money I would want something a little better than a five year old 4th hand one piece 19 inch wheel.

VE GTS I still believe look very average, I honestly don't think we'd see any on VLs whatsover if it weren't for the sake they were the newest HSV wheel out and you can buy cheap copies of them.

Chrome 20s look nice on many cars but they really don't work on others, alloy wheels I find are more forgiving when it comes to ride height, chrome only works on axed cars or it can look a bit cheap.

Starforms are nice and probably the only 17s I'd ever consider for a VL, they lack wow factor for those who don't appreciate what they are however, which is almost everyone these days. Internationals are over.

Billets look great on show cars but for the money and with the style of them I wouldn't bother for a regular streeter.
Welds etc should be left for the track.

Chasers really bring down the look of any car unless it's on slicks although they're a safe bet if you don't have any money - they look heaps better than a set of 15 inch CSAs or 17 inch chromies. The exception to this is a Calais, i really don't get into the Calais on chasers look.. makes even the most OG cal look like a mock up.

Polished Calais wheels look alright for a $150 pieces of metal although I'd hardly consider them a substitute for actual rims, plus they're a pain in the ass to live with as once the car is low having 15 inch wheels means you scrape on everything.

PS I really rate Decorsas, you hardly see them these days though.

That is all

I reckon overall the good old 88 Walkys are the best, with plenty of people still using the stock Calais rims or big freaky chrome jobs, the Walkys dont look overdone but can turn a stocker into something classy in five minutes, they even look ok on my VS daily.
