Enough of the bullshit chatter, more on the car itself.

Well Liam started the thread to talk about the car, not have people bitch about whether he's paying full price for the work or getting freebies or discounts, etc. Fuck this place is getting full of smart arse kids.

Lol, yeah just noticed, he's got 18 months on me, 5 days less than you. Just one of those days, patience is wearing thin allround. That comment wasn't personal either, just a general observation over the last 6 or so months.
Anyway, back to the car..........

As I said in the other thread the car's looking great Liam...

Pretty much exactly what I would build if I decided to get another VL, unfortunately if I did it now I'd be copying you

It doesn't matter man, it's a discussion forum. I can't do work on it now 'cos I'm stuck at work so I might as well talk about the work that needs to be done. Next best thing, right?!

Is it getting an original windscreen seal or the newer one piece rubber job? The rubber fits great and looks good, and no water sneaking in down the sides to promote rust.

The one thing I instantly regret doing is not going to VT rubber. It'll have the standard plastic cladding...for the moment anyway

The last two pics I posted are the only real good photos. It's in my mate's shed now which has the world's worst lighting - no good for showing off the gloss. It's glassy though, very deep

I like how clean they look. Maybe when the standard ones are blacked up a bit they'll look the part

I'll have to look into it. A lot of people diss the repro stuff but I've had no trouble with it this time around, touch wood. The moulds and the front bar are all Taiwanese and, granted they weren't baked, but they're arrow straight. I'd love to use NOS gear but it's just not that kinda car

I got the aftermarket (Chinese?) wing mirrors, front bar centre section and front bar fillers...all fit perfect....better than my genuine rear filler....go figure.

I managed to get NOS tail lights and boot/corner moulds...oh and pinstriping...you using the proper Berlina tail lights?

Yep. Managed to get a really good centre garnish from a forum member and will just get new lights from Rare Spares. The Rares lights are OK, I bought a new set just under to years ago and already one of them has gone to ****.

Na it's the driver's side one. The middle lens is starting to fall out. It could probably be fixed with glue but I might as well just buy new ones

That does look particularly awesome. Nice 'Australia's Driving Future' sticker as well, must add that to the list of things to get
