Restaurants

Im a bum and my idea of fine dining is a thai restaurant that has $10 mains or an all you can eat.

I wana take out a fairly classy chick to a restaurant were shell enjoy getting dressed up and seeing me dressed up for once(sorta semi-formal-casual??, black trouser pants, nice shoes, nice shirt no tie crap)

i was thinking that Sails on the bay or Nobu. Are they good or is that a lil ****ty?

anyone go any experiences or suggestions?

manm you have heaps of great options, Donovans, the Stoke House, Acland St. Strip, Toorak Road, Swan St. Richmond, it goes on man.

BUT, to make an impression, maybe ask her what she's into...

She loves the whole sorta "ive got a million bucks to spend" scene... i on the other hand dont have a million bucks but i dont mind spending anywhere up to $200-$300 for it. So i was sorta just interested in a list of a few possible ones that i can check out myself to narrow it down.

On riversdale rd in Hawthorn is a joint called Choi's, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside...
The chef there used to cook at the Flower Drum in the city, so the food is about as good as it gets (chinese, obviously), and its cheapish, like about $20 a main meal.
Or if you want real flash, Movida, on hosier lane in the city, right next to the forum, opposite Fed square. It's spanish food, and it's a little more expensive, but it's the best food I've had in Melbourne. You will have to book probably a coupl of weeks ahead - but let her know that, she'll appreciate the effort - she better!!

he'll sort you out a nice meal
last time i spoke to him he was getting paid ****loads to cook chocolate cake though haha

alot of you guys are on the money with good places to eat. it all comes down to personal taste and what you look for in a resturant though.

plenty of nice resturants in the city, i think theres a website or 2 dedicated to good to this kinda thing. id search but too busy at work
let us know how you go

Conservatory at Crown is a safe bet $70ish per head all you can eat, has a good range of food so you got that covered. Would need to book at least a week ahead though. If she likes meat then Vlado's in Richmond, basically 3 courses of meat (best steak in melb) and strawberry pancakes for dessert. Cost about $80 each.
