17's to 19's? legal?

hey all, I'm on the market for a VS Clubsport. I've always heard that u are legally able to go up two wheel sizes from standard... if this is true a vs clubsport should b able to have 19inch wheels from the standard 17's.. is this correct?!!

yes that is correct there should be a tyre placard on the inside of the drivers door which states wat size wheels it came out with from factory so check that first!!

Um well technially no.

It cant be more than 50mm larger than the largest tyre on the placard.

And of course 2inches is just over 50mm....

So if regency/traffic cop wants to be a cnut, he can defect you
.

Its 2" over standard. Ive been had for it...VL cannot go bigger than 17s...legally.

Check the tyre placard, what i'll think you'll find is, the VS Clubsport has 17s from the HSV factory...17s being 2" bigger than a standard VS Commodore....I highly, hghly doubt you'll legally fit 19s...i'll think you'll find HSV have already fitted the biggest wheels possible for you...

its a bit different in NSW and VIC..

VSI 6 states that any vehicle can have a RIM AND TYRE combonation of no more then 15mm overall rlling diamter..

The track cant be increased by 1 inch.. or 25mm..

I have 18 x 8 on my car legally.. 19s are just pushing it due to the tyre having to be so much smaller in profile..

Vehicles manufactured on or after 1 January 1973 (ADR 24) are not permitted to increase or decrease
the diameter of the wheel by more than 50 mm than the largest or smallest wheel listed on the tyre
placard.

I hink you'll find walkys have the same tyre placard as other VLs....the reason they can have 16s is because theyre within 2" of the biggest standard wheel (15").
