Can anyone help me out with a recommendation for a good mechanic to give my newly aquired VLC an engine and trans service as well as get a few leaks fixed up? I got some advice to speak with Seaton Service Centre but he can't get me in for at least a week and I need something done asap. Any thoughts?

Cheers XCHASE! The guy I spoke to on the phone there was the most friendly and helpful out of any shop I spoke to and quoted me the cheapest price, but also seemed to be the most knowledgable.. They even got her in there tomorrow morning at 9 so I should have her back by lunch runnin beautifully! Once again, cheers mate on the perfect recommendation!

The funny part is XCHASE, I bought this VL Calais from the owner of the company in your signature, CK Racing Developments. Haha!

CK Racing made my roll cage for my VL. Very happy to recommend him for any metal fab work

Yea I just dropped her off down there then and they quoted me a grand for a service and tune on the engine and trans as well as a bunch of fixes for the oil leaks e.g. Rocker cover gasket, power steering rack & pinion, all control arm bushes and readjusting and oiling wheel bearings (damn VLs haha).. all that for $1000, including parts and labour.. I'm no mechanic but that seems like a decent price to me! Although one thing that I'm stuck on is that grange road auto worx are saying the previous owner put cut springs in yet the previous owner (Chris, owner of CK Racing Developments) assures me that they're not cut and proper pedder springs... Who do I believe? Lol

I'm now in need of a recommendation for an underbody steam cleaner for the VL.. Anyone?

Have you used them before BLOWN R8? If they're good I'll make the trip, but from their website it looks like they don't really do a lot of regular cars, more trucks and things like that.. Plus Id prefer something a little closer south if possible?

Cheers buddy, yea I hope so (hope the wink face wasn't insinuating any sarcasm lol). They seem good down there so far (except for leaving a tag on my keys saying "commonhore", I know its nothing but I come from a global company and know it just doesnt look good on the business), will definately be headed back down there though. The VLs still leaking so I gotta get the underbody cleaned up so he can see whats going on down there. He also said the reason it lags a bit is cause the injectors need to be cleaned, so I'll have that done early in the week. Got my mate whos a 2nd year apprentice painter (I know... I'm a bit scared too! haha) who said he'd do it for the cost of the materials so she'll be getting a fresh look soon too!

Just have to say a big thanks to Adrian at Westside Towing and I cannot recommend him enough

He towed the Aristo in very short notice and was top notch.

Anyone needing a tow, definitely give him a call.

I'm sorry but I just pissed myself laughing at that comment. Relax dude, they do a really good job there, I have had heaps of complex work done there and it is all good. They treat me like family.

A guy added me on Facebook a few months back and he works at Street and Custom Paintworks. He owns a yellow SL and is doing his gf a candy pink Calais. Are they the two VL's you see in there?

For cheap towing up north can't go past this guy. $50 to tow from my place to the paint shop. He's cheaper than hiring a trailer.
