Can't make boost on the line makes it a manual in my books. I still don't class it with 33/MX7 boxed vehicles either though as Carlos said.

And i know what Carl was hinting at haha, but the t04z is as brad said, a baby in the drag racing world

The GF-5R clutchless transmission utilizes split, spring-loaded sliders. The engagement lugs on each half are ramped on the deceleration side. When the shift lever is pulled into first gear, both slider halves move to engage the first gear faceplate. When the shift lever is moved to the second gear position, only the slider half-facing second gear moves to engage that gear. At this time, both gears are engaged momentarily, but second gear causes the main shaft to increase its rotational speed. This speed difference kicks the first gear side of the slider out of engagement, (hence the need for the ramped engagement lugs). Subsequent gear changes operate the same way. All shifts are made at full throttle, without the use of the clutch, just as they are with a planetary transmission.

yeh no clutch.. so is it even classed as a manual?


the whole reason for a car being "manual" or running a "manual" time is cus u loose boost and time whilst changing gears..

why is the manual record like 10.4 or something when the auto is something in the 8s?

even if this machine ran an 8, it would prove my point that its not manual, and its more like an auto. and, more importantly, would it take out the fastest vlt manual card???

THIS CAR has not yet made boost on the line, so i class it as a manual. He rev's it up and drops it like any other manual, i've been on the tree when the thing has raced on three seperate wednesday nights now.

If its running a G Force GF-5R like stone racing said.... that there is a manual transmission people.... A lenco or bruno may be debatable as it runs planetary gears like an auto..

This G-force runs straight cuts with a Input, primary reduction, main shaft and cluster arrangement... just like an MX-7 and any other manual trans..... you cant argue with cold hard facts.... just because it doesn't have a Syncromesh engagement doesn't make it an AUTO.

ANDRA Classes the clutchless boxes as manuals in the rule book.

Though you could not put a clutchless box in the same category as the boxes being used in the the 10 sec VL's, manual technically yes, but is still apples and oranges.

i think we should change the rules for our own little records to be more clearer so there is no confusion. what alot of the guys are saying is correct gforce are manual boxes they dont have a convertor to go through etc etc etc. for our records make it so that manuals have to retain h pattern and clutch and if u want to be anal about things must retain synchros hows that sound 2 you guys?

I beg to differ.... at the end of the day its a manual transmission.

Then everyone would be gettin in these arguments of "its the fastest untubbed, Manual transmission H pattern, factory red calais with grey trim etc etc etc bullsh*t arguments.... "

I dont see the big deal? if the owner has the money to invest in a good transmission and 90% of the world dont too bad thats racing.. get with the times or get left behind

It will just be the same as RB26s etc... i mean when UD LOSE was the fastest manual VLCT not many people really accepted it because it wasn't an RB30.. so it was 'technically' the fastest manual vlct in the land however in reality people knew what was what (not taking anything away from Shane or UD LOSE, just using it as an example).

What i'm saying is this car will take the record technically, but 2FREAK don't be worried, people won't confuse it with cars that still use 'traditional' type manual gearboxes.
