i wanna know if its a good buy getting the bottem end kit????????? im not really conserned about people running tens on standard heads ,

what im intrested to know is how much to spend and what to do to the head so its reliable with no dramas running tens continuously being 400+HP copping big trashing and so on....

seemed like a question to me..

get a cam and valve springs.
port and polish if you want.

spend 5k on the head for all i care....

im just saying people are running comfortable 10's on standard heads...

to reco the head with new valves, valve springs, machining and a cam will cost somewhere around 1000-1500 depending on where you go, to get it ported add an extra couple hundred bucks

Why dont you ask all this down at Maatouks? he will have the answers. I reckon he can get rebuild kits cheaper than you could too

$2390 isn't a bad price for all that i would think, i mean if you know the right people then maybe you could get some stuff cheaper, but really that's not too bad..that's a tuff bottom end combo right there...

Yea I brought one of them kits + sump from spool.... depends on how much you wanna spend on head work, I spent about a grand on mine cnc ported etc

nar mate, not quite yet just saving some coin up then we're off to engine dyno to run/tune it then into car...

I'm not building my engine I've got an engine builder to build and tune it for me...

I simply replied to Turbos post that yes I've had the parts required machined and balanced..

with what I've spent I'm not about to have it all slapped together.

my plan is to get all the parts together new everything on a rb30 block besides the crank, new oil and water pumps, seals,bolts, head, cam, valves, nuts the lot.....

evertthing i want from engine,gearbox and turbos n fuel set up computers minus the car its gonna cost me close to 12k plus... once i have everything together find a cleanish vl n transplant everything over once the car is painted this build will start just after new years
