***DONT do it: Acetone dash face***

I was cleaing my dash on the clear see through cover which i found out to be plastic and i acetoned it ( similar thing such as prepsol or thinners etc. )
Anyway i used a normal rag and found out that the acetone didnt like the PLASTIC and scratched the ****t out of the face and made it very cloudy and dull!
NOT good..

Just putting this up to warn you to DO NOT use anything but metho and warm water for this kind of issue!

Ill just replace it but its stuffed up the calais cluster i just bought.. luckily the clear cover can be replaced i hope

amour oil has a simlair affect if you don't wipe it off, it will burn into the pastic and make it cloudy n crap! mainly happens when people clean there car at night and don't clean it off properly. damp cloth always works best.....wipe on wipe off!

Thanks for the laugh, if it makes you feel any better I did something similar with a mates cd. As for the dash mine was scratched and ugly so I gave it a cut and polish as a last resort to buying a newbie and it scuffed up a treat. I got pretty excited when I got my buffer and also polished my windows which cleaned up spotless. My girlfriend made me do all the windows on the house as well

?stained from polish? Or do you think the polish will take out the stains. I'd give it a go to remove the stains, maybe stay of your windscreen as the polish can cause probs in direct sun with moisture on the screen but I do it anyway, inside and out.
