Cup holders?

Does the Calais have any?

if not, has anyone here made or bought some custom cup holders for their VL? Twice now I've spilt a large coke from maccas, lol, so I thought it might be time to have some cup holders, instead of fumbling around with drinks in my hand while driving. So just wanting ideas for sumthing that doesnt look out of place or cheap.

calais dont have any as far as i know...

if u took the centre glove box lid off and made some sort of thing with 2 big holes in it youd have a fairly good drink holder i guess...or cut a piece of wood to fit inside the top part of it with a couple of holes, and when u want a drink holder open the lid.

other than that im sure u can buy ones that suction onto the plastic, but they wouldnt hold much and would probably fall off...

Take the centre console lid off
Grab a maccas drink tray (holds 4 drinks if i remember correctly)
Cut it down the centre
It will fit near perfect into the console between the driver and passenger seat.
Spray it black

Too easy....

I did that before I put the Calais lid on and it worked a treat.

Hi all,

has anyone come up with something decent for drinks? Without having to remove your power window switch!!! Surely there's someone out there who's come up with something or is there an off the shelf thing you can buy?

i work at a plastic fab joint, ive been thinking about making some sorta of cup holder to replace the glovebox lid, bolting strait in the old holes, so you can still use the glovebox as well, just havent got around to it as yet

Owners of nice VLs should have a no food or drinks policy. Owners of shit VLs shouldn't care if drinks get spilt...

A shit VL is just a nice VL waiting for a decent owner.

As far as the cup holders go Street Commodores did a write up a while ago about installing a VQ to VS stato/caprice centre console lid that has hidden cup holders into a VN-VS. I am not in the same hemisphere as my VL and I dont have the required VQ-VS part to check but maybe you could adapt it to fit the VL reasonably easily. Certainly be one of the higher quality solutions I think.

You can't link images from your PC. You need to upload them to Photobucket or similar first
