Big external pump with -12 oulet running -12 line with a inline -12 filter then straight into the block where I drilled and tapped a -12 fitting. All the oil galleries were drilled radiused and cleaned out FULLY to open them up. Did not need to run high pressure but there was lots of oil there and when the bearings were pulled each time after to check they were perfect. Mind you good oil flow is not subsitute for crap tuning either

Putting the pressure right up has a detrimental effect as it can make the pump "churn" up the oil and kind of makes if froth which is not good.

id go see an real engine builder rather then going of internet forums for advice but.
it will have a litle more oil pressure only because it wont be running throught the whole block only to the main oil gallery which feeds the motor
Just because asuper cool USA supra man on some forums has done this and that to his car and made X power or ran x time doesnt mean its the correct way.
it will have a slight increase only because it wont be running through the engine, out of the pump through a filter and straight into the mian oil gallery, with a std 2j turbo oil pump with the normal mods to the oil system

Sounds similar gormo
Instead of the oil going thru the block behind the oil pump, it comes out the side of the oil pump thru your filter and cooler setup and into the block where the std oil filter normally is

It should increase the flow to the journals ect but it will also increase pressure

We are trying it in a std rebuilt motor 1st and as long as it works well, it will get done to my built motor

I haven't gone on any forums to ask for advice on this
I was told this mod and sent videos of it from an employee at Titan who got the info from Cody Phillips

That ski race sounds pretty nuts!
Yeah oil pumps are sh1t jobs but at least this time round we are doing things right

the motor i had in there was just an NA with unknown kays and condition
it had also been sitting for quite a while before i bought it and used it

all that i done was change oil pumps, sump, water pump and put a tt headgasket on it and fitted head studs

this motor thats getting put together probably next week is a turbo bottomend with the crank done by crankshaft engineering
im also putting eagle rods in this motor but leaving the std pistons in there and will be trying the new oil setup
rods are the weakest part in these motors, thats why its getting a set of eagles

if everything works well then the oil setup will be done to the built motor which will be bc625 rods, titan pistons, main studs, l19 head studs, new oil pump ect

it will be an interesting next couple weeks...

Ignite how did you go at the track the other night?
Not to bad at all.

8.96@151mph off the trailer
9.05@154mph
9.09@15?mph - Timing Board Played up
9.04@158mph

The car needs some new Tyres that's for sure. Turnes the tyres untill 1/2 track, 1.4 60ft's when the car does consistant low 1.3's. It has a PB of 1.27 60ft.

Slowley getting on top of things for Sydney Jambo.

It is. That's what I like about it the most. I try to get out as much as I can. I have a few supporters & sponcers but the rest I do out of my own back pocket. It costs a bit just to go and do a test n tune. I would love to be racing more but it all comes down to $$$ gormo, Sherif and a few of the other quick boys no were I'm coming from.

Unlucky about your oil pump troy. That has happened to me before and its not a fun thing.

Yeah i heard something about motors needing oil pressure, pretty crazy stuff. So what yas are saying is a -12 oil feed to the turbo would be a bad idea???

its like anything depends on pump, oil can play a big part not worth running bigger clearences with a std pump is it with a good pump (external wet or dry sump )you can even go a little bigger as you no there are alot of varibles
