This just gets better! I would rather the South Island but it's where ever I can get work at the time. But I would rather be South. What kind of things could you help with?

Sorry man, didn't remove them from the car before it went to the crusher.

I began to remove the rear skirt/bumper then found it was half rotten so left it on the car...Didn't look bad in the pictures, but it was bad close up

Nice. Are they slightly different colours or is it just the light?

Nup, they are slightly different....Turns out my car is wrong

His car has never been painted and although it's crazy cracked to hell, it's a noticeably darker red.

I guess the colour match wasn't 100% when mine was painted

Haha yeah, a battle indeed...That makes 4 sets of Simmons now

Funny thing is, I went to the shop in Avondale last Monday to view them before bidding and the guy in the store had no idea they were on Trademe? They were for sale on the shop floor for $455 which I could have purchased then and there but because I'm such a nice guy I told him they were already on Trademe...Then I end up paying more than double what they originally wanted.....Oh well

That guy is an absolute tosser.....He wouldn't answer my question in either auction about what name is stamped into them. The guy who bought the wheels, has left him bad feedback for another auction which seemed to turn bad....I wouldn't trust him with my rusty wheel barrow.

They're not in Hamilton are they?

It all depends (to me at least) what brand they are...will either have HDT, ROH or Cheviot stamped somewhere near the valve hole...I've already got a set of 15" ROH stamped Aero's, but would like a set of HDT 15" Aero's for my collection.....eventually

The 16's look nicer...and are worth about 6 times as much

^That's good buying, I assume you've purchased them here in NZ? You won't buy them out of Aussie for that price

On eBay a decent set of 4 average around $3,000 but like you say, much bigger market there too...

Lads, I'm going to be ordering a whole heap of parts for my berlina soon, who's had dealings with the major suppliers? Rare spares, kings wood country etc.
Any advise? Things I'm getting are bumpers, trims, lights etc. kings wood country seems a whole lot cheaper, but is it of less quality?

Generally lights and bumpers are all Taiwan made so whoever is cheapest would probably be best. I've ordered bailey channels (which were absolutely rubbish) from Kingswood Country and they sent me Rarespares items. The channel is too fat for the narrow glass and it lets water in, along with letting the window rattle around if you have the glass down half way...Glad I only fitted the fronts ones as I'll probably re-sell the rear set

End of the day, it's all aftermarket rubbish which is all you can really buy these days.

i got bailey channels from rare spares and were a good fit, came as a roll, was expecting them to be joint at the corners but no.
put a bit of ados glue in the channel first then they wont move

I also used Rare Spares bailey channels, but had no issues whatsoever. They fit perfectly, they are however Ba5tard of a job to fit - you really need tiny hands.

So when your window is down around half way, are you able to move your glass in the channel? Almost like the glass is too thin for the gap its in?

The original channel that came out was a real snug fit on the edge of the glass, but the new channel looks as if it was made for glass that should be twice as thick.....Maybe I had a bad batch
