VL Lifters

Hi all today I just started my fresh rebuild vlt
Standard motor except one item the cam
I got it re lobed to a gts1 cam (R31 gts non turbo cam)
Also got the faces of the lifters machined for the cam.
Now my issue is when the motor is running the lifters are tapping their brains out (even if running till warm) and all I could suggest being a mechanic myself is to replace the lifters with a set of new ones just thinking if I replace the lifters will this affect my valve opening and closing operation?
Also where can I find a new good set of lifters?
I heard that the aftermarket set can lead to the same path through little time
Much help is appreciated
Oh and to help I'm using penrite HPR 15-60 full synthetic
Thank you boys and girls
