Drop Tanks

Hi guys,

Just curios to know what are drop tanks worth these days.. been getting mixed responses with variant prices. Would be good to know how much to pay without being ripped off. Cheers

there worth what ever some will pay i see them all the time on gumtree for like 500-900. and im with you dean i would pay any more then 200 or so.
and joe185i i think what has change is that all the younger kids that get vls now want the drop tanks and then they smash the cars and wreck the tanks so there are less around??

some of those high value ones are flushed and chemicall treated inside new solder new paint etc.

in saying that yeah i picked up an live axle one for 100 with straps and sender unit etc. small ding but enzed did all of that cmeical treating and soldering to one of my radiators for $140 so lets say 250 and some home panelbeating and a few cans of paint $300

Joe the difference is its 2016 now not 2011!
2011 you could pick up a VE SS for 25 now you can get one for 15
Bt1s were 15k now they are 25 plus
As stated prices changed over years and some morons ask stupid money hence why I wouldn't pay more than $200 for one!

The problem now is that people are all about making profit of vl's.
people who strip them now just ask crazy prices.
Its a shame now that people are selling parts to make insane amounts of money, and have no real interest in the community.

End rant - I personally would be willing to pay $250 for a drop tank that is original and needing work.

Do the assorted tanks have part numbers stamped or somethings else to differentiate between model/ litre sizes?

I bought 2 complete ones back in 2007 for $50 each. Couple of small dents but overall pretty straight.

I wouldn't pay stupid prices for them but it all depends how bad you want one.

i picked one up a couple of months ago. Sprayed in 2 pack, straps, fuel pump and stone protector for $400. I think it may be the going price these days
