Alarms and insurence?

hi i have just got myu p's and brought a vl calais turbo and i have heard that if you have an alarm in your car some insurence companies will acutally lower your insurence is that true?

im not sure but i got a kill switch put in and that lowered my insurance by $1, lol. but mines an N/A.

actually it goes up....me old man put a alarm on his VX R8 Clubby and the insurance went up yet it was one of the best alarms out there

My insurance premiums went down by 10% because I had an "approved" alarm & immoboliser installed.

Also dropped another 5% because it was in a lockup garaged

because if you car gets stolen its just more money the insurance companys need to spend eg. alarms

With my NA, i added a approved immobiliser to my car, it took 10% off the premium. This was with RAC(WA).

However, the price did go up alittle because the immobiliser was being covered aswell. But it turned out to be cheaper then before anyhow (With the 10%).

I had a alarm and central locking by the same company fitted last week, going in tomorrow to see if it changes anything.

ask the insurance company straight out. its not like everyone on here has copies of every policy available. i have an alarm etc so i know when some no good (unt is trying to push my car outa the drive and take it.
