My boot install

I've almost finished my custom install in the boot of my VL.

Pics can be found here.

www.wallcomm.net/carstereo

All I need to do now is cover the wood in carpet, make a cover for the spare wheel & retrim the sub box, as it's a bit worse for wear.

Im not sure what im gonna do with the bak piece. I thinking of either leaving it closed up, or cutting a hole where the subs are and putting perspex with "illusiv" etched into it or something like that.

Thoughts or suggestions??

Thanks
Craig

Yeah it rocks! They are JL 12" W6 Dual Voice Coil subs... they absolutley rock!!!

I have a blaupunkt head unit, JBL gt 4" Splits in the front, and PPI 6.5" 2 ways on the rear shelf.

The PPI amp (polished one) is a 2 channel and powers the subs, and the kicker 4 channel does all the speakers... Also got a 10 stacker in the boot...

Goin to the trimmers today, so yeah, should be all done in a few days!

You should just buy a VS spare wheel cover, its just moulded carpet. Should be the same shape, and since you got a VS berlina wheel it would fit nicely.

How does the Vr/VS spare wheel cover fit perfectly?? I got one, and I have a VS Berlina 15" Rim in the spare wheel well, and it won't allow me to get the top part of the cover over the tyre. and the left hand side doesn't go all the way back to cover the tyre up.

I have like a 1mm gap between the top of the tyre, and the car, which isn't enough to slide the top of the cover in between.

Any ideas??

Same as mine....

Just doesn't wanna fit under the top lip, and the left side doesn't go as far back like the right hand side does, which shows the tyre, and looks crap IMO!

Just check to see if the wheel fits all the way into the bottom of the well. You should have atleast an inch of room from the tyre to the top of the panel.

Looking fairly good man

Can i see some better shots of the left side?
I was planning on doing a setup for my boot like yours, except i couldn't figure out a simple/nice way to get the spare wheel side looking nice and flush with the back/sub panel!

Yeah I'll take some more today...

im gonna make a cover to go over the spare wheel. it will be an upside down L that will start at the end of the bit of board on the back, which then will cover that whole side.

How about that back panel, against the subs? How is it held up like that?
And can it be moved easy to get to the shocks? heh

You got perspex covering the amp? Hope you don't use the boot too much cos I would be too scared of scratching them to put stuff in there.

Also how did you go with fitting the cover for the spare wheel? Heres a pic of the VS cover in action.

That amp is gonna get ****ing hot under there and those subs are going to sound buzzy if they are facing that back piece of timber. Looks a treat though, well done.
