When is there going to be an OFFICIAL Calaisturbo cruise/event in Melb.

Hey People,

I'm new to the forums.

As the topic states, I'm just wondering if there is ever going to be an "OFFICIAL" Calaisturbo cruise or event in Melbourne. I used to think that Melbourne was the so called, "VL Turbo Capital of Australia" but there is never anything on. Other states sometimes have various Calaisturbo events, get togethers etc.

So can someone please tell me what the deal is? Anything planned for the near future (ie. really soon, like before end of 2003)

I would love to see all the forum members VL's plus all the Victorian VL's featured on Calaisturbo.com all together.

Thanks,
Any info would be appreciated!

PS, BTW, I went to the Calaisturbo Calder meet thing last year to spectate, but there were only like 5 VL's there.

hrmm... with better oganisation i think you guys down there could have a few more Hi Flow cruises without much hassle..
If you go about organising it off the forums (through email, make sure no details get onto the forums where cops can read about it) you shouldnt have much trouble with cops. - thats how we do it up here (QLD) and im yet to see anyone get in trouble on an exchaser cruise :P

you havn't been to melbourne in a while.....

whenever a cop sees a nice done up car (especially vl's) you generally get followed for a while and if they see more than 1 together.. forget about it..
you might aswell pull over and get your licence ready,
might make the cops feel beter that they didn't have to turn on their lights....

not sure why calais turbo could not organise something with the police like other organisations do to run something like this, I think MCCR do this but I stand to be corrected.

You guys might all remember I wanted to organise another "OFFICIAL" cruise a few months ago and have a BBQ aswell... But to have it an official event Sin had to ok it...

WE WERENT ALLOWED TO HAVE AN OFFICIAL EVENT: THE REASON FOR THIS WAS THAT SIN WASNT READY TO HAVE AN OFFICIAL EVENT..
Despite that fact "I" wanted to organise it with some help from you guys who kindly raised your hands to help me out...

So hassle him about lack of 'official' events..

I was thinking of making a big cruise early next year. The reason being is it gives people time to organize themselves but also I want to get on other car sites and make 1 giant amount of performance cars whether it be 4, 6, 8, rotary, turbo or supercharged. Just make it 1 of the largest amounts of cars cruising ever.
If we can get a few nice cars it is easier to get other people to want to go for a drive with us.
I have got my car, a 10second RX3 13BT, a potential 9 second car and a 10 second XE 351 already saying yes and I can easily get more nice cars if this thing eventuates . So if it is possible to get othere clubs involved aswell as anybody in a nice car that joins in.
Another Idea is to have some "organisers" keep stashed a pile of photocopies of meeting point, time and date. When they see a "worthy" car the can try to give them a copy.
Because it would hopefully be a sh#tload of cars we would have to cater to everbodies needs, we would have a cruise that involved the North, East, South and West but with a central meeting point eg a large carpark in city somewhere. It would be wise to take main roads so the cops are unable to block off a large group of cars.
Being a large group of performance cars the magazines may be intersted in taking photo's, thus inspiring people to want to bring out their beast because they may get a piccy. Some interested magazines would be Street Commodores Fast Fours or maybe even Steet Machine?? who's knows but it would be certainly interesting to see some of Melbourne's toughest cars cruising

Anybody interested??
