hey mate i have a full spool 31 spline. doesnt cost too much.

All you need is a set of moser 31 spline axles which cost around $700 and a romac spool wich cost around $450. just press new bearing on your spool and axles and bolt your crown wheel on spool. check you back lash and your all set.

Yeah i done exactly that, went from a 25 spline minispool to a 31 spline full spool with billet axles.
Cost $1350 installed all up, very worth it if you ask me.

If your planning on installing it yourself give this place a call and see what he can do, (02) 9891-5088 (James) and he might be able to send it up to you.

what about 31 spline LSD? $700 for a set of Moser axles isnt much more than a 28 spline diff.

$1350 installed? sounds better than wot i just quoted, however i'll be doing it myself. I tried calling him this arv but was probably too late, I'll try again tomorrow if i get a chance

LSD would be great but i want it to be cost effective and reliable. $700 probly isnt much more than a 28 spline diff but its a matter of finding one, and for the money they ask your still only taking a punt on 20+yr old diff thats been flogged by hoon in a vl turbo..

but if one pops up i would definately consider it..

any of the LSD centres found in borg warner diff'd commodores fit in the VL housing, so you could use a VN 4 pinion centre with 31 splines. if your building it yourself it would be good.

yeah i kno but some of them centres can be a pain in the arse to shim up. ive been using ford 25spline lsd centres and you need to put shims behind the actual ring gear which can be dodgy if ur putting out some power. its the same with vt centres not sure with the vn tho.

25 spline arent strong enough and got to buy axles anyway so may as well get something half decent.

Thanks Timmy for your info mate. i called James up today and his getting me the moser axles from the states, full spool + bearings/ seals, bearings pressed on, $1045 delivered. better than wot diff technics could do. cheers
